I wonder if we are expecting an deeper space gray color or if it’s going to be the same color hue as previous generations.

silver might really be a nicer contrast…

I use an 11" iPad Pro when I travel so the Macbook is a desktop replacement for me, mostly plugged into monitor, keyboard, and mouse. A 14 inch would be fine for most of my work.
But I went for the 16 inch because desktop programs for content production tend to make good use of all available screen real estate, and I want the ability to do that in the field every now and then. Also, my eyes get worse every year.
If I didn't use the ipad so much, I would have gone 14".

I completely wiped my computer and they were fine with that. It was on the start up screen when I brought it in.
Original ETA for the MBP was Oct 26 so I assume still is. As people have pointed out, the store still has some errors but this is amusing anyway. "Arrives"
Space Gray for me (my 2013 MBP is silver and wanted a change)
I noticed that the BASE model MBP 14" space gray seems to be more popular than the silver this year.
Silver MBP's are delivering sooner than Space Gray on that model. THAT or they don't make as many space grays as they do silver... who knows?

Your late 2008 MBP will run Catalina, Big Sur, and even Monterey at this point. You should check out the forums and see what the OCLP team has done. Amazing work keeping the 2008+ machines usable.After 14 years of faithful service, my Late 2008 unibody MBP is finally being replaced. 16" Max 32/1TB with 10/26 delivery is on the way.. Even though the old beater has the extra fancy BTO 2.8 gHz Core 2 duo, I'm thinking the new one might be a tad faster to boot. A functioning camera, WIFI card, and ability to get past Mojave will also be a nice bonus.
I am doubting if I should get 512GB or 1TB. I am currently a student, so I would like all my school stuff (which is about 20GB) on the SSD so I can access it even when I have no internet. Most of the stuff I do during my studies is typing documents, programming and some database stuff. I also like to watch movies and tv-shows in high quality, but most of those I put on a pc which works as a mediaserver, which I can access from outside of my house as well. I don't store any pictures or videos (just keep those on my iPhone) so I won't need any space for that. So, I guess 512GB is more than enough for the coming years, but for some reason I still feel nervous about this choice, because you can't upgrade down the line and I don't like the idea of always having to take an external SSD with me.
Oh well, it's probably just some sort of FOMO and I'll probably be happy with the 512GB and €200 in my pocket.

Awesome will do the same..as far as that NVRAM thing, do I need to do that, or is that not necessary? Its just so many buttons and Im afraid of messing something up..when I youtub'ed how to factory reset I didnt see anyone doing that just formatting it..do I have to deactivate the computer from my apple account(on my PC it shows my devices and it shows the macbook pro) do I deactivate it after I format or will it automatically be deactivated when I remove it from icloud, etc

Funny enough I had the same thought this morning! Once I had more coffee I was happy to have ordered the Space Gray one. LOL.

If it's darker then I'll be very happy with Space gray model. The renders don’t really justify. Next Tuesday, I’m definitely going to the Apple store and checking out the silver model and see how it looks.
well I did something with my Apple Card and now my order is on hold. and cancelled! UGH didn't know messing with this would cause my order to cancel! I thought once order was placed thats it.
I thought about alternating silver -> SG -> silver etc which would mean I should order a silver for this round, but having tried and failed that with the iPad Pro (which I ended up exchanging for an SG one) I decided to stick with SG again to avoid unnecessary returns

Silver is the best. Can't beat that Apple classicness. I have MBP16" in both colors, and Silver is definitely more eye catching and my favorite.
My charge for the sales tax is still pending. I did finance mine over 12 months.
Ahhh! Really on the verge of getting a silver Mac now lol. Worst case I’ll play around with the space gray model that I have it ordered and check out the silver model at the Apple store. If I do like the silver I’ll just exchange it.
