I agree! It would have been cool but we’re asking Apple for too much now 😂 Apple is concerned more about the performance and battery life. Face ID? Yeah, that’s not the top priority.

So I decided to order tomorrow. That gives me a bit more time to fret about what to get. I was more or less settled on the M1Max base (24 core GPU) with 32GB/1TB. I currently have 2TB and it's a bit much. I have almost 900GB free and if I clean up a bit... but that's exactly the point, isn't it? Cleaning up is ok by itself, but files never get smaller. So 2TB isn't a bad idea.
And then I noticed the 16" is really only €230 more these days. I always said I disliked dragging my 16" around, but having acquired myself a car recently, I drop it behind my seat and I don't notice it. By pure coincidence, I borrowed my M1 mini at work to somebody to test it out for his Photoshop workflow, so I'm obliged to take my 16" everywhere. I think I can get used to it. Feels more like a major machine when on the sofa compared to the more informal 13" I used to have, but my eyes aren't improving either...
Did I just talk myself into spending almost €700 more? 😂

I would not mind Face ID as an option, in fact a double security feature would be an interesting use as well. When working, my MBP is connected to an external monitor with the lid closed though.

Yeah, for the most part he designed a significant amount of their best products there. Just after the internal struggle with Scott Forstall, and basically answering to no one where the minimalist over functionality set in.
You’ll go cross-eyed looking at the notch. Remember the movie The Jerk with Steve Martin?
There will be people that do that. Although how the menu bar looks in full screen mode might also look good in regular mode.
Since I'm in clamshell mode 95% time, NEITHER option helps me.
Give me a secondary touch ID on the outside of the lid or something, lol.

You know that the airflow doesn't actually look like that right?
The downside that that is that with apps that have a lot of menu bar items, there's going to be a weird big gap between two of them; more so on the smaller 14". You'll notice that Apple shows Photoshop on the 16" where everything fits on the left side.
PS I'm still ordering a NotchBook.

Another good find is on Apple's website for the MacBook Pro. They've managed to take screenshots which don't have the notch obviously, but they created an asset of a MacBook Pro that overlays the notch on their own screenshots. Wild the lengths Apple goes through.
Nope, that's what I ordered too. Will be plenty for my needs.
