Compatibility is going to be a big issue, so you need to figure out if the games you want to run can on M1.

Right now its Apple Arcade games honestly. On my wife's M1 the computer got hot pretty quickly.

Right now its Apple Arcade games honestly. On my wife's M1 the computer got hot pretty quickly.

I do not think you will have any issues with any model of M1 Pro or Max, the cpu and gpu the base 14" is more powerful than previous chips.

I do not doubt high utilization sustained workloads are going to get the system hot, it is a dual fan cooling system on an apu which helps.

Even the 8/14/16gb 14" is going to outperform the 13" in every way.

Ordered a 16/Max/64gb/32/4TB with 4-5 week delivery mid/late November. There was no option for express shipping for me

For some reason, the 16 Max with the 4TB SSD is still slated for Nov delivery, while other SSD sizings are all into late December. Like you, I had the 4TB SSD option.

Does anyone know when ordering for in store pickup usually becomes available? Day of release?

With the watch release earlier this month, they did initial orders with in store pickup but then shut down store pick up completely. It opened up again around 4 or 5 am PST the morning of the release. So maybe similar?

Man I wish I had known you need the 97w charger to do fast charge before I placed my order. They really should have been more clear on that immediately. Now if I cancel my order and place another with the 97w charger I won't get it for another month or so. Wish they would just let us exchange at the apple store and pay the difference..

Call Apple right after you get it. They gave me a free replacement for my iMac Keyboard when I ordered the wrong one.

I was told via chat on Monday you can actually do just that. Now whether it is true remains to be seen!

Good stuff but I don’t like the zippers I want just a sleeve either leather or cloth. Easily accessible.

I’ve sent an email asking if PicasoLab intend to make their custom leather sleeves for the 14” and 16” MBPs and am waiting to hear back.

I have the 13” sleeve for the M1, and would love if they would consider adding the 14” and 16” sleeves to their inventory. I love the sleeve so much, that I’m going to have to find a new use for it... I even had it customized with my name. 😩

I purchased the brown/red pictured below for my M1, but it also comes in blue/red and black/red.
