Do I sell my MacBook Pro 2019 i7 16 inch 16 GB with apple care plus till 2023 on eBay or via apple and get 100 back on my apple care plus ?
This is a big upgrade for me. I’m going from a mid 2012 retina 13 inch with 8gb ram and a 128 SSD to the base 14 with a 96w charger. I ordered maybe 10 mins after and I have Nov 3-5.
I've have a 15.4" 2007/2013/2019. When the announcement happened, I was immediately interested in selling my machine that is still perfectly usable, and has AppleCare+ until June 2022.
First time owning the smaller size model! Excited to size down while also keeping my performance the same as the larger one!

Look at the recently sold listings for your model on eBay, then throw the average into a site like finalfeecalc and compare what you’d be getting after eBay fees to what Apple will give you. If it’s close, go with Apple for the sake of simplicity.

You would be surprised how late Apple/the shipping companies tend to push out the deliveries…
More space is always good. So it’s a win win!
Also remember that the rest of the world is “behind” China with respect to time, so even if they ship it out from China on Friday, it is really Thursday for us in the States…
So it’s a possibility tomorrow might be the day. Maybe UPS scans will appear overnight.
I always tend to go though apple for bigger items like computers.
I woke up in the middle of the night, wide awake. Fixed a coffee and settled in to catch up here. But stopped on the front page and read the comments on their thread about this delay. That was some of the funniest stuff I’ve read ever! I had tears from laughing, and at one point spewed coffee on my iPad. Read it…the world needs more laughter!
For what it's worth, I contacted Apple about changing my delivery from standard to next day express. They changed it for me and said it will ship from within the U.S., so at least some stock of the first order wave (for those of us that purchased right after Monday's event) is already stateside.
That’s a good possibility but Apple told me it’s coming directly from China. I don’t think all laptops will be available stateside.
I think when they are trackable, if they are origin scan in Louisville you know it’s stateside (at least that’s what happened with my iPhone 7+ a few years back I believe.
