If it's true, Apple has a two week return policy. You should be able to return it and get the new one with minimal hassle.
Is there a restocking fee? The MB has been opened and used.

They better not. I just bought the MB a month ago, this is not cool
I feel like this kind of thing could lead to other compulsions and destructive habits. Before I know it I'll be chain-smoking in front of my computer each Tuesday morning waiting for the store to go down in one Firefox tab while playing online poker and posting "OMG...store's been down for 41.235 minutes!" in other tabs.
Damn you Apple! At least with Big Tobacco you know exactly what's coming.
It is probably a lame update so your system will still be close.
Thanks, raises my hopes a little...
I'm hoping for new MBPs before my ADC membership expires and thereby my ADC hardware discount is wasted.
Ok lets follow the logic of the post and assume for a moment that all the info is correct (which makes no sense)
MB refresh (which I do not believe) but along with the refresh, are some price increases to the point that the MB and the MBP are the same price.
That would mean a merge of the two lines (highly unlikely).
Basically for a little bigger disk, a little faster CPU and a mediocre graphic card all MB customers get the privilege of paying Uncle Steve $1,000.00 more.
Pro customers have to get a DELL.
Yea it does not make sense at all.
The MacBook are getting updated with blu-ray drives... MBPro update has to wait... LOL...
Seriously though, I have mixed feelings. I'm waiting for a MBP update to buy one. I was hoping for one at MW as my current laptop is dying (physically failing) and I'm hoping it'll hold out until a MBP update comes out, if not I'll just buy whatever is available when it does die. That said I'd gladly wait an extra month if it meant a substantial redesign of the MBP vs. just a penyren upgrade. I'm thinking thinner/lighter, newer keyboard and blu-ray built in.
My fear is that they stick 3G or WiMax in it... both of which I could careless about, if I ever wanted such functionality I'd add it on via USB.
Oh, and I'd also totally jump on a MBP without a built in DVD drive... oh now that would be heaven, a MacBookProAir is my dream machine... big hard drive, fast graphics and ast processor, no DVD but I would want GB Ethernet, 11n WiFi and BT built in.. external Blu-Ray drive via ExpressCard...
Apple needs more models... more options... not many, just a few more...
I hope not. We just bought a MB for my wife last Thursday.
First of all, I apologize for my bad english...I hope you'll understand the meaning of my post.
Since we have now 3 lines of Apple laptops (MB, MBP and Air), Apple is maybe going to dismiss the MBP series (or the MP one...), so that we'll have only two lines, just like it was until January. They maybe want to 'merge' MB and MBP, in order to push non-pro users to buy the Air.
So in essence, just in case your MBP prediction is wrong, you run this thread on page 2. Way to go out on a limb MacRumors.
