macOS 10.14 Mojave on Unsupported Macs Thread

EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 SSC - Graphics
To be Decided - Wi-Fi

I'm 18, earning £200 a week so it's going to be hard but does that sound good enough?

The Buyer's Guide at tonymacx86.com shows the latest component that are not only hackintosh-able, but will compatible with Mojave. Check it out as it has several "CustoMac" configurations, one of which is an inexpensive configuration. See also the Buyer's Guide Accessories section for compatible WiFi and BT components.

Thanks for that. I'm also looking to make it a gaming build though, as I will be dualbooting.

AMD CPU? You're in for a world of pain if you want to run macOS. Modern macOS was built to run on Intel CPUs.
From what I know, it is possible to run it on an AMD CPU, but it would require things like a legacy, modified kernel and stuff like that. Hackintoshes are a pain in general, but throwing an AMD CPU in the mix is a suicide in my opinion 🙂.

P.S. That's also why you won't see any AMD CPUs recommended in the tonymacx86' Buyer's Guide.

Because tonymacx86 is a know-nothing hack who repackages other people's work without giving any credit.

If you want to persevere with AMD, head on down to insanelymac.com. That is where the bulk of hackintosh knowledge comes from, anyway. You will find sections dedicated to AMD and you can ask questions there without being banned.

"Inexpensive" does not mean £650 on ram.
Also, nothing about Mojave.

As for the others, thanks for the details you guys have provided in helping me to achieve my goal. I absolutely hate tonymacosx86, I think it's trash and have done since I first ever used it back in 14'. i am instead looking to buy the intel variant of that motherboard, which is £40 cheaper. That way, I can buy an i3 and still be able to game. Did I pick a good GPU?

Your only option for the moment is to run Mojave in Parallels or another VM.

Unfortunately, your iMac is not on the officially supported list for Mojave.

Sure, it'll be fine for a budget machine. Unless you are a real hardcore and/or competitive gamer, please don't let anyone tell you that you need a 120Hz+ refresh monitor or a CPU/GPU combo that will let you achieve 100+ FPS. Actually, don't let anyone tell you that even 60FPS is a must. You can play many high-end games on ~40 FPS and it'll be a fun, enjoyable experience. That's just my two cents 🙂.

Both Insanelymac and Tonymacx86 have developers on the essential tools to run macOS on non-Apple branded hardware. They have different visions on several issues, but I consider both of them great resources. I prefer Tonymacx86 to Insanelymac especially because their method seems more straightforward and easy. Anyway, for old Hackintoshes, this is already old news. For news ones, a quick read of the rules of both boards and some google search will probably clear it up. Anyways, people, we all need to work together on this, to get this through. Mojave is a tough one, I think we have not come such challenges in years in hackintoshing, things felt smoother in the last years. We need to make this one out. People from Tonymacx86 and Insanelymac know those things too well. There are great people on both boards. I see there are some really capable people in here as well. I hope their knowledge and expertise will join to achieve success. There are many people with old Hackintoshes or old real Macs who are left behind, like me. We are not developers, we can do our best, but we need you guys, the experts, to help us. 😉

I'm up and running on a Mac Pro 5,1 with NVIDIA GTX 1050. Graphics are sluggish--acceleration is partially working from what I can tell.

so, do I understand this right, I can install Mojave if my MacBook Pro has intel HD graphics?

Not all in Multibeast works for all things. It was not suppose to anyway, I guess. I could not enable audio by Multibeast, for example. So I used a standalone pkg install, to install the kext in an old, legacy way. Hackintoshing means trial and error.
