Is it worth it to install? I have an M5 MBP.
My iPhone and AW are on developer beta.
No complaints from me. It feels great.

Does anyone know whether the new dictation engine is already up and running? So far, I cannot tell a difference in the fidelity for the built-in dictation, and I'm still having to use a third-party app, which I hope will come to an end soon.

A gentle reminder...

You are beta testers, and a Developer in Apple's eyes if you're using this release.

Report the bugs you find to Apple!

While Apple may see this thread, they very well may not. Like any other software house, they'll also depend on how many bug reports/complaints come in about issues to prioritize fixes (or not, as the case may be).

why the 3rd party apps come after the system ones...I hope they revert this / is a bug.

8. Another ugly things is the tablet makes a new menu item appear called Virtual Machine Accessories. It looks like some **** idea that would be on Linux. Even Windows wouldn’t have this crap.

Aside from the issues in 7 and 8 this is mostly better than Tahoe by a light year but still lots of UI issues carried over.
or *gasp* turn off 'virtual machine accessories' in the menu bar settings 🤔

Bartender doesnt seem to work
If anyone comes across a Menubar management app that gets fixed for Golden Gate - I'm in! For me, it's Thaw. They're going to work on fixing it, but it'll take time
Yeah, I’m currently trying to erradicate Little Snitch and ProtonVPN. They don’t like it.

Edit: If you uninstall the apps, they leave some extensions behind. If you go to Settings -> General -> Login items & Extensions -> Extensions, you don't have the option to remove the leftover extensions.

UNLESS: You click on the "By Category" sorting option. Then, if you go to the "Network Extensions" section, there is a small three dots icon that allows you to remove the extension.
Surfshark VPN works fine

Where did this come from?!

I usually wipe clean, and simply reinstall the apps I need. Yesterday, I just installed over my year-of-use Mac which created some headaches. So last night I wiped and started over - and it's amazing

A few notes: Menubar apps don't work. Little Snitch doesn't work. I'm installing only what I know to work, and I'm running like fire on this new build - it's pretty legit

Finally got the chance to login and i'm impressed. For first beta this is very fast. Historically all first betas were horrible in comparison.

AirPlay from the Music app on my MacBook Pro M5 is being wonky. The song will be playing to either a Sonos or Bose AirPlay speaker and even though the song is still playing and the time is moving on the Music app, the sound cuts out from the speakers. If I move the slider in the song time back or forward, sound resumes but will cut out again shortly after. I feel like this happened last year too but I can't recall when or if it was during the beta testing. It was fine previously on 26.5.1 and previous to that during MacOS 26.

Edit to add: No issues AirPlaying from the Music app on my iPhone also running the iOS 27 beta to the same speakers.
How is the Music app's UI? Did they fix the control bar location or the insane waste of space in playlist windows? Is the volume matching function still not functioning? Thanks!

Annoying bug when waking Mac up from sleep. Nothing else than the clock shows on the lock screen, and Touch ID on my Magic Keyboard is not working. This is when my Mac is docked to two external monitors. need to open my Mac and use the Touch ID on the Mac to get in

Has anybody tried to use their phone for continuity camera? Nothing I do can get it to recognize that my iPhone is available for it. Wifi and Bluetooth are on, phone is right by the computer, restarted both devices, no luck. I have tried plugging the phone into the computer as well.

iPhone 13 Pro and 13" M1 MacBook Pro (2020), both on iOS/MacOS 27 DB1.

Have already reported my issues via the feedback app.

M1 Pro (base model) runs it perfectly. To be fair, this laptop has become my "personal" one and I only use it for light web browsing, email, word processing and music--but for those things, not a single compliant. The UI is miles and miles better than Tahoe. Feels like a computer again. Also did a video call earlier on Safari and camera, mic, etc. all worked as they should.

There is the occasional visual artifact/bug, but those are either self limiting or edge cases that don't affect usability at this point.

Alas no, control bar still obscures. Sense hasn’t prevailed unfortunately.
I agree, the design is questionable since day 1. However, with the new transparency slider set to 75% the control bar is now better visible. Still I think the bar should be up on top and way bigger, as it was before. Hey Apple, could you add a possibility, just like in iOS Safari, to place the control bar in Music on top? Thanks in advance. 😍

Yes, Local works without any issues.
FYI, for anyone that may be interested, LocalWP does work, to some degree....

LocalWP opens and appears to work ok, until you try to load wp-admin, in which case you get:

Code:
502 Bad Gatewaynginx/1.26.1

The fix is to add this inside the wp-config.php file:

PHP:
define('WP_HTTP_BLOCK_EXTERNAL', true);
