They still did not fix the Dock jumping around issue (with dock magnification enabled, grid view pinned folders jump around on first mouse movement after being opened). This is there since early Tahoe builds.

How is the speed/snappiness? I read that it's improved in iOS/iPadOS 27, and I'm curious if it's better on the Mac as well. šŸ¤”

Finder icon has new proportions. Looks more like classic Mac OS.

Looks like a simple but powerful tweak by bringing back a curve on the profile side, giving it more life, but I can't say much more from the res of that file, but certainly more in the spirit of the original and previous versions perhaps.

Yes, you now turn off Siri altogether. Also, my defense for this: Just dont use the features
I haven't booted a VM yet for 27 so I can't test right now, but to be sure I understand correctly you're saying that Siri and Apple Intelligence now are the same thing? So you can turn off Apple Intelligence still but it also turns off Siri?

I'm tempted to dual-boot this beta on my M4 MBA! I've already created the APFS volume in anticipation, but will wait for the full installer download link to appear before diving in.

I have developer betas turned on, and the Golden Gate beta has duly turned up in Software Update - but I'm assuming that if I run it from there it'll just overwrite my existing Tahoe installation?

How’s the security situation? Did they put on more bolts and locks, meaning is it any harder to run unsigned apps (I don’t expect it to be easier ofc)

I noticed that photos taken on my phone weren't syncing across to Photos on MacOS.

Going into Photos settings, it seems the photo library was no longer set as the system one syncing to iCloud. Clicked to turn it (back) on and all's working.

thought about this last night and thought no, but this morning it is 'what the hell' the word gate is nordic for road so golden gate means golden road thus with a little (very little) imagination the name suggests yellow brick road thus are we looking for a way home, a heart , courage, or a brain

Did they change the battery icon to match the new one in iOS 27? Some of the Mac demos they showed had the same battery icon as macOS 26, but some of them had the new one (filled out without the border line going around it)

Also, did they fix the weird issue with full screen apps, when you swipe up for Mission Control and swipe over to one of the full screen apps, and the background is just black? Didn't do this prior to macOS 26, it just showed your wallpaper in the background.

Overall it feels smooth and snappy. This MacOS 27 beta doesnt feel like one. The installation process was pretty quick. Compared to 26.5 there is probably not much of a difference though. Having said that, it has just been 1 day of testing though. MacMini M4 here.
