Wow, more junk added to the crowded and dysfunctional menu bar! What’s wrong with the other ways to have stuff like this shown? Desktop widgets? Widgets under notifications? Dashboard?
Write me up as unimpressed.
Whaddya mean? There's plenty of room at the menu bar!

I don't mean to be negative, but I don't see the point of this. If it still requires a click to show the forecast then how is it any different from the current feature? If I want to know the current weather then I can just look out the window, which is bound to be more reliable than asking a server somewhere else.
Look at you being all fancy and having a window!

It sounds like you're more opposed to any type of weather forecast offered by anyone than against this particular feature. I think of this is just one more quick option to see an upcoming weather projection that you can either take or leave.

For me, aside from using Siri, swiping to a hot corner to display the desktop and having weather widgets open is just as good as clicking the menu bar (but I don't have a general issue with forecasts).

Dare I mention for how long this has been a thing on Windows?
Funny you should mention. I was on a Windows machine the other day at my office and noticed the same thing. Cool, a temperature display, I thought, let me click on it and get the forecast. Nope! What it did instead was projectile vomit raw internet all over half the screen: animated ads for detergent, little clickbait "news" tiles, random coupons. I think there may have been a forecast in there, but it was drowned out by crap. So yeah, great job Windows! Really knocking it out of the park there 😆

People who can tell what the outside temperature is just by looking out a window are special.

It's sunny and clear over 300 days of the year here on average, but that "sunny and clear" looking out the window can be anywhere from 30°F to 125°F.

From June to October, I know it's over 100°F every day so knowing the exact temperature isn't critical - it's freaking hot. In the other months, I want to know if I can wear shorts or need long pants, and whether I should layer up/ take a jacket with me. Looking out the window isn't going to tell me that. I don't need accuracy down to two decimal places, but I'd like to know within, say, 5 degrees.

I think it's a cool and useful feature, and I'm glad they added it.

Anybody know if the 15.2 AI features on macOS (genmoji etc) are also available in the EU right now?

"Amazing and innovative". This is what the zealots are going to say. They are literally going to point to this and don't say that apple isn't given the people what they want . Zealots are lame.

It's a nice option for sure. But it's also just Monday ... Back to zzzzz

I actually like iStat more and always disable the macOS menu bar features and use iStat for everything that it can be used for. Way more useful and then use Bartender to make the spacing work the way previous macOS used to be spaced. Perfect world then.

But can you select where the weather data comes from like in iStat? That is a must for me since some weather providers are way more accurate for certain places than others. I've noticed this greatly over the last year, using iStat.

Edit: Was replying to posters but somehow failed to include the quotes. Sorry what looks like double posts!
