I know, let's make them TRIANGLES! Yes, that would be fun too, right? Is it so bad to have a playful OS instead of it feeling blocky and boring? Blocky and boring is a good part of why I hate windows. What’s wrong with a bit of round and flowing?

HEY! Just... just don't give them any more ideas!! 🤣I know, let's make them TRIANGLES! Yes, that would be fun too, right?
Then I will not say the word parallelogram. Oh, whoopsHEY! Just... just don't give them any more ideas!! 🤣
I agree, but the appearance is the problem.Beyond the appearance really not that much has changed
If I could repost this I would repost 1000 times.I agree, but the appearance is the problem.
By way of comparison, you could say the same about text written in sans or serif that's changed to comic; but no one would print a novel in comic. No one wants to be distracted from a story by fonts. Though there are some exceptions: the Chaos Walking trilogy, for example. But in that case, the use of imaginative typography adds to the story. The problem with Liquid Glass is that it distracts from its function. It's noisy and intrusive and provides no additional benefits.

Did you give a chance to settle, or try to troubleshoot why battery life was worse? I’ve noticed no difference on my M3 Pro MBP, I still get a full working day in AutoCAD, while streaming video on a second screen, with 30% battery remaining, just as I did before I upgraded to Tahhoe.I honestly can't believe how worse it made my new MBA M4. Despite the improved RAM/Memory compression in Tahoe, I notice almost one hour more battery, quicker performance, less ram usage on idle systems and an overall performance boost when now using Sequoia 15.7.3..
I legit want Apple to stop this idiocracy with "glass effects' and all of the popping children colors and rounded shapes. It's so unnecessary and it all feels like a serious downgrade. And what is up with not having a choice to turn these energy vampires off? MacOS should regain more options to be in control of your own device. I don't use AI features currently because they are mehh to begin with. Yet it still uses 8-10GB of files that cannot be deleted and are automatically reserved. No way to turn system wide functions on or off to actually save memory, GPU power and batterylife. I have never felt they urge to complain in almost fifteen years of MacOS, okay maybe I did.. but not to this extend. Are they only hiring vibe coders nowadays?
This is so sad. Great way to ruin a company. Shame Shame Shame on Apple for releasing this GARBAGE. I have not updated and will not until forced. At which time I will make the Linux decision. I hope and pray for our sake's that they get this **** sorted.I honestly can't believe how worse it made my new MBA M4. I have said often that the effing circles make me think I am back in kindergarten. Pathetic for a multi trillion company. Or any company for that matter. What the ef is next, triangles? So my gripe is that I use a QNAP RAID box as my backup station, it mounts using SMB. Prior to the 26.2 update, my 2 drives would stay mounted for weeks or longer. I have a pre-set CCC back up every night a 2am. Now my 2 drives are randomly unmounting themselves every few hours. So my nightly back ups are failing. Now I have to remount the RAID drives 4-5 times per day, & manually run my backups. I hope they fix this in the next release, looks like other ethernet connections are also being randomly released. Nothing has changed in my system for a few years, only the 26.2 update. M1 Mac Studio, Netgear 2.5 Switch to a Dual Ethernet QNAP TS-659 RAID Box

How can anybody get work done when the menu bar animation is choppy! Oh, the humanity!!!I’ve been running into some pretty frustrating bugs lately on macOS 26 Tahoe, and I’m curious if others are seeing the same thing. I got to say in terms of bugs, this is the worst macOS version Apple has ever released, worse than Ventura was three years ago! I have had it with macOS Tahoe. The speed of the OS is fine but not the stability. The fact that users do not report this stuff often is the main reason bugs like this don't get fixed quickly. Here are the apps I have been experiencing problems with.
Freeform: When I type in a text box, the sentence or a entire paragraph would keep duplicating whatever I type whenever I add a period or a slash. It makes even simple notes turn into a mess of repeated sentences. iOS 26 Freeform does not do that.
Journal: I type a long paragraph and sometimes the text switches sides of my typing cursor. But also, the app would sometimes freeze and become unresponsive, and when it does, entire paragraphs disappear. It’s happened enough times now that I can’t trust it for longer entries.
Menu Bar: The Menu Bar animations become choppy just because a app is on the right side of the line where the trash app is on the dock. So if there is a app next to trash before the line, the menu bar animations are more choppy. It's these little things that Tahoe has that makes no sense.
Seriously, why can't be even basic apps be functional to the user. I just want to create new ideas but these apps glitch too much. I want to downgrade back to Sequoia or even Sonoma which is my favorite macOS for Apple Silicon, how do I do it? Why doesn't Apple allow the user to downgrade easily like Windows? Has anybody else been having bugs in this new macOS? macOS 26.2 has not fixed much bugs for me in my experience.
No, I am not really OK. I want to talk to someone at apple who can hear me out as to why this ENTIRE upgrade was ruefully unneeded. This is the first update where I am never going to do it. When they force me to, that will force my hand. I got no problem with Ubuntu. Apple stepped on their dick hard this time. I feel for those who love it. Or even like it. I study UI/UX for a living, and trust me, they broke every effing rule that we had learned from a decade ago until now. remember how my people HATED VISTA? Yeah, this is worse. NO ONE ON PLANET EARTH WANTS A SQUARE STEERING WHEEL UPON ENTERING THEIR CAR IN THE MORNING. when they had a ROUND one the night before! NO ONE!You okay?
I did a clean install of macOS Tahoe on both my MacBook Pro M4 and M4 Pro and like Bungaree.Chubbins experience no difference in battery life compared to macOS Sequoia.
I was around for DOS 3, Windows 2, and GEM. I’ve used every major version of Windows except NT 3.xx, including Vista. No, I am not really OK. If you like transparency and round buttons, well I guess you were not around in the late 90' to mid 2000's where they FAILED MISERABLY. If you think it is acceptable, you are against the grain in this thread , for sure. And we will not be hanging out, ever![]()

afp is deprecated in macOS 26 and will not work at all in macOS 27I have a QNAP NAS too. Still on Sequoia, as these posts make me a bit nervous. But, have you tried connecting to the QNAP using afp? I made some tests a while ago and found afp more reliable and faster than SMB. This could have changed since then, of course, but if you are having disconnections so frequently trying afp could be a good idea.
IMO, Liquid Glass was developed as the IF for the now failed Apple headset. After investing $ millions and years on that dumpster fire, Apple has shoe-horned it into macOS, etc., to try to get some return on investment. It clearly doesn't work well on macOS now but might improve with several full point iterations. I see no advantage at all for it on iOS or ipadOS and have switched it off on any device that supports it.I was around for DOS 3, Windows 2, and GEM. I’ve used every major version of Windows except NT 3.xx, including Vista.
I like Liquid Glass.
Go on. Keep telling us how we’re bad and wrong, everyone loves being told they’re stupid!
I stand corrected. I also started around DOS 3.x, as I recall. I could care less if you like it. I do not. That is my stance and I can back it up with UI/UX studies in usability and productivity. It is like getting a nice new piece of furniture VS ALL new furniture and a TOTAL redecoration. You wold be quite shocked if that happened to your home without anyone asking you anything. It would take you months to try and get back to what worked perfectly fine. That is simply not how I prefer to use my time on this planet. By all means tweak it once in a while (that's what she said), but no need for the full Monty EVER!I was around for DOS 3, Windows 2, and GEM. Don't get me wrong, I don't like what's been going on with Tahoe, it feels like they did a rush job on this one. However, I have also been subjected to using Windows 11, and it is at least as bad, with the added "bonus" of Microsoft trying to monetize you by trying to force you to use Edge/Bing whenever they can.I'm going to be looking into possibly moving back to a Windows or Linux environment
