@ team: how come for PowerPc users with TenFourFox the quick reply editor is lagging/having delay, while the "More options editor" does not?
my favorite quote from iPod discussion, 2001:

"[snip: text about comparison of two ipods]""

...lol. people still can't do nuance, it's all strict adherence to logic, or straight up plato's cave. i wonder if David is still lugging around his computer to listen to music on the fly.
How is objectively arguing what in detail makes it harder to read it not nuance? Again, people complaining here are not disliking the looks per their taste. In this context here, the looks/aesthetics don't follow function, but vice versa. They say it is hard to read, hard to scroll, etc.
They complain about the look organizes things!

I can't understand how a forum staff member (arn) can like/up-vote a post that is just ridiculing other people, that have well and objectively stated, what their reason of concern is. This is like an admin encouraging people to not follow netiquette.
Apple TV is a Mac?

That's gonna make even *less* sense once this WWDC launch comes around...
Do you mean me? I didn't say something about Apple TV. Please quote, when you referring to something.

Not sure if I like it. Seems cluttered. I'm sure we'll get used to it though.

To my eyes it is both cluttered and wasting space at the same time.

For example, the huge blue bar under avatars in long posts like this.

See what I mean?

There are also a lot of navigation issues and it seems that there are extra steps to get into sub forums. Where is the link to Apple Watch Accessories here: https://forums.macrumors.com/ ? The pulldown is a nuisance.

Not so crazy about the new format, especially the main forum index page. Seems to require more scrolling on my 11" MBA screen. And I just find the layout ugly and cluttered. Doesn't do anything to enhance my user experience. But "whatever", I will get used to it….

Decent changes. not intrusive. forums still genereally look / feel the same

However the "quotes" and "notification" isn't working right. I'm getting a LOT of notifications for quotes / replies that don't exist. I click the link it takes me to someones post, but there's no quote from me in that post. So, the new forums seem to be screwing up notifications somehow

And I thought Yosemite was ugly...

That Jony Idiot sickness has now spread to MacRumors...

Yes, this "Upgrade" feels like a real downgrade. Going to take a long time to get used to this. Looks like a shell of what the old look was. Thumbs down on the new empty look.

Initial reaction not a fan of the changes. It is not easy on the eyes and i cannot find "Forum Spy" which i use as my home page for the site.

Can you send me screenshot of your notiifications page and an example of a link that it sends you to that is wrong?

thanks

It notifies you on quotes and other people commenting in a thread you commented in. The previous system notified you only on quotes, here it's different. If you would like to be notified only on quotes, disable the notification system in your user preferences panel.

Arn,

Are we supposed to get notifications for people replying in a thread as well as people who quote your response?

I get notifications in all threads where someone has replied after me but are not necessarily quoting me.

There are settings to the level of detail you want:

@ Moshe1010 and others:
In the alert preferences you can set, if you get alert for new posts or just for quotes of your comment. I un-followed almost everything, because my email-box is flooded this evening. It would be fine to get an alert once a day for new posts in a thread.

Edit: ok, took me too long to post. arn already explained it with a screen shot.

@arn
Also the "view more posts" does not make sense to me, since one already sees that there are several pages (even behind your own post. When you click it, it confuses one and I don't get what it is good for and where it actually shall take me./link me to.

Why would you think I'd mean you if I didn't quote you and you didn't mention Apple TV?

The OP post said to post feedback on the Forums in the thread, so that's what I did.

The Apple TV is currently listed under Macs, which doesn't make any sense.

Fun to read those archived threads. Every Apple product announcement is the same - Apple's products are always the stupidest ideas ever, sure to flop. The iPod is especially hilarious. Tons of people talking about how those giant brick hard drive players like the Nomad were superior... the idea of carrying a music player in your pocket didn't seem to register with anyone.

Is the profanity filter disabled?
Why tell someone that he is stupid? Can't you just be happy on your own and enjoy that you are less profane than other users? o_O How is your post not adding useless filled up space in this thread? (btw. what, if someone didn't ask for a feature and went away from the forum, although it existed and he would have made another decision, if someone had told him, it existed?)

Why can't we all just be more polite? (I guess that bit-ch-ing is what someone described as "facebook/twitter style" ;))
