I could be mistaken but I think I read a post from @arn that Forum Spy is disabled "for now". But I could be wrong. I've read so many posts about the new forums.

We have a version of spy. it's not as good as what we had before. I'll turn it on once the user caches rebuild completely.

Might be missing it but the ability to edit thread titles briefly after posting would be welcome as well. If not planned to be added (or I am missing it), guess I'll have to watch my typos a bit more closely.

Good news. I was looking for a link to it, but that's why I can't find it.

Is there a easy way to see posts vs threads started by clicking ones user name in the top right? It seems to be a multi-link process now to see that (your profile page-postings, then scrolling clllllll the way down to see threads created)

I like it! Will take me a day or two to get used to but I think it's for the better. It does look more modern.

We can always correct typos for you. Just report the thread in question and ask the question.

I was wondering the same thing...

I think the same effect is achieved by clicking the name of the thread in the notifications menu.

Click the avatar of the member in question, and then at the bottom of popup page select posts or threads.

Circular avatars are butt ugly and cut off most people's avatars unless they are specifically round. I'm not sure why this was changed, it serves no functional purpose and aesthetically just looks terrible with all that white space around it.

You are definitely not the only one who doesn't like the circular avatars. Not to worry, I have posted a fix (for desktop) here: How to browse MacRumors with normal square avatars again!

I know it will take some getting used to but I think it's a step in the right direction. Also it's free and I get a ton enjoyment out of it so i'm not complaining in the slightest.

the entire forum appears chaotic and disorganized.
everything is gigantic and take much more space than before.
much less intuitive and visually tiring to navigate the menus
ads are way more intrusive.
overall i am getting a headache just looking at it.
the overall effect appears very unprofessional to me.

the round avatars look on average terrible to me, but i guess when everyone changes them to fit the round theme they might be better.

i am sure i will get use to the new layout eventually, but visually it is decidedly worse than before.

I think what spinedoc has in mind is that he would like everyone to view his avatar, as well as the avatars of other members, in normal squares. If I understand the option you suggest, it would only change the view of members who know to make this fix, am I right?
"…avatars will still appear circular to everyone not using this fix."
It would only be an illusion reflected back to the member himself, and not seen that way by everyone else who did not know of, and implement, this fix. Yet, I would suggest that everyone who selects and displays an avatar does so with the expectation that others will see it as he/she does. That's the whole point of having an avatar.

Feels a bit claustrophobic; like it's always a bit zoomed in.

Is there any way to make it possible to respond to a thread and not have it auto-watched?

Sorry about the overzealous emails. I switched everyone's preference to "watch_no_email" if you weren't getting email notifications on our vbulletin system.

I like the title of this thread. Because I just did panic a bit. Didn't know this was in the works. Maybe once I'm on a computer I'll get more familiar and like it, but on iPad mini right now I'm not impressed. I thought it was great the way it was. Front page was clean, now it's all big and jumbled and messy. I will adapt in time, or else this will be what I need to waste far less time on macrumors! :p

Oh wow. I was pretty confused at first and thought Don't Panic was the thread title. It's actually a username. My bad! lol

Can we get an Apple logo back in the emoticon choices? Super helpful when discussing the Apple Watch.

Also sorely missing the "search thread" option.
