Yeah, I should probably have mentioned you among the serious runners, but you're so serious that many of your runs are competitions that can't be recorded for the challenge and you're also more into speed than distance, if I got you right.

I don't want to boast too much, but yes, speed more than distance, and a few of my runs are competitions when I don't want to have the Nike+ kit on me while I run.

Almost cracked the top 10 on the first run of the challenge. Too bad I won't have a chance to run again until Saturday, but by then I'll be at the back of the pack again.

Anyone have any good recommendations for workout music?

have you all calibrated it? reason i ask is my pace is average 6'50", and i'm not sure thats right if you're all 8'+. I'm also not using nike+ shoes so this makes me wonder if it's innacurate. I don't want to cheat!!

Do you run fast or slow? Do you measure in km or miles? When I run my pace is usually around 6, but that is km and I run slowly.

i measure in miles, i've never really had anyone to compare myself too, but i do run quite fast, maybe thats why i can't run really long distances lol

Well, it's not unreasonable if you're a fast runner. You still run slower than XIII if 6'50'' is for runs that are three miles or less.

yeah i usually run between 2-3 miles. I think i'll take it to the track at the weekend to see how accurate it is anyway.

Calibrating is always a good idea.

But it's sounds like you're getting pretty accurate results. Usually, if there's a problem with the way the sensor is attached to a non-nike shoe, the results are wildly inaccurate. Just make sure that, which ever way you've attached the sensor to your shoe, it's tightly secured and isn't to move around. If the sensor can slide or bounce around (even a little) while you're running, you'll get inaccurate results.

Well I have 3 different running playlists depending on what I aiming for:

Under 4 miles - The Fratellis Album Costello Music is great for quick pace

Training - I brought the "Improve you Endurance" Nike+ Album with a coach which I think is awesome.... a real motivation.

Over 4 miles - The LCD Nike+ Album which is great for getting you in the zone at a good steady pace that you can maintain.

I think these Nike+ Albums are very good, the fact that you get the continous track for running and then individual tracks for normal listening makes the £7.99 price good value.

Just posted my first run! 3.73 miles.... not quite bottom of those that posted! Maybe I should have put the nike+ kit in my soccer boots this weekend!

Just wondering what sort of pace people are doing, mine for that run was 8'33" which I am looking to improve.

Ha, I've been wondering about soccer. Was almost going to pop the gizmo in my boots last wednesday kick-around, out of curiosity to see how far I run in a game. Distance lost to the challenge but decided I should protect the nano... If you do it, share the graph. My average pace seems to be about 7.20 / mile.

My nano was ordered about 1 hour ago and it's being engraved (ie: longer wait time). I am going to the Apple store today or tomorrow to get the sport kit. Can I be added to the challenge or should I wait to have the nano first?

after you setup your account at nikeplus.com (whatever the site is), you can be added to the challege whenever you want

I need to run more, I'm getting killed in this competition. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to double my total and then some.

i think this club is good for everyone. makes us try to run more.

good luck

Yeah... I'm watching your progress with fear...

And markgjones, where did you come from? You had zero kilometres all this time and all of a sudden you had a couple more than me. Who are you anyway? Reveal yourself! ;)

From the distances involved, it seems markgjones only runs marathons.

We had an unexpected downfall of snow and plummeting temperatures so it made running difficult, if not dangerous on the icy roads. My distance records are so awful, I feel so ashamed. *sobbing*

Everyone has to start somewhere. Its great that you're out there moving!
Personal bests improve significantly over time. You'll get there if you just
keep moving.
