Our ad network did look into it, and couldn't track it down, and I spent time looking into it and couldn't reproduce it. But if it is happening with an ad blocker then it's not the ads - which may help narrow it down.
That leaves only a few options:
- Xenforo itself. You may want to try browsing around the Xenforo forums, which is a stock install of Xenforo.
https://xenforo.com/community/ - if it happens there, it's something related to Xenforo, and perhaps an interplay with some versions of iOS
- There aren't a lot of other options. We have a few add-ons installed, but nothing that's changed recently. I can look into any more scripts that might be causing it, but I don't think we have anything that would be a likely culprit.
- Do you have any other content blockers enabled on your iPhone? I'm not sure how possible it would be for something like that to trigger battery issues, but I know there was an issue with a desktop Safari extension which caused massive memory issues.
Anything more specific might help.
And I realize this is usually a BS thing to try. But if you could clear your mobile safari cache/history/saved data, it is possible that could help since it doesn't affect everyone.
