I wish I still had WoW time. Though, even if I did I don't think I would make a toon on the server with you guys because my main still isn't up to 80 (shamefully).

Not having your character to 80 yet would make it even more worth your while, because then you could level with all of us :)

Haha, right you are. Problem is, though, that I am on a server with a bunch of friends from back home (I'm in college now).

Also, server transfers cost money. I don't have money to buy time, let alone server xfer, haha
 
REMINDER!!

Just wanted to remind everonye to check the guild roster (Very first post on thread)

Make sure to add all the macrumors members that have created accounts so we all can stay in touch.

I am in process of creating guild tonight! :D

Anyone have any last minute ideas for a name? I liked "Rumors" but I'd like to get something more oriented towards World of Warcraft possibly...

How about "Rumors of War"?

@ aznguyen316 - it was me you met up with last night in the Durotar newbie zone. Papa Legba - Voodoo priest extraordinaire - (now if only there was a headshrinking spell my toon would be complete)

And as a complete aside - I looked up our server last night. It's about 1.7:1 horde to alliance in terms of active characters, so we picked a good server to avoid gankfests. I also noticed that the two Ars Technica site guilds are on this server and play horde (one has something like 175 active players), so the tech site guilds are already well represented here. If someone hangs out on those forums as well as these, we should arrange for an introduction once the guild is off the ground.
 
Guild Charter Ready....Rumors Of War?

I went with Echinda's suggestion and thought it was a good idea. I created the guild charter for our guild and can still change the name if anyone has another suggestion they like better than RUMORS OF WAR. Otherwise...I think it's a great name and we'll keep it...

When i catch any of you logged on I will be sure to try and meet up with you so that you can sign the guild charter. We need 9 signatures to get the guild approved and up and running...We have 10+ members from Macrumors on so if i can catch each of you getting on...we could get this finalized sooner...

I will likely be online tonight for most of the evening playing...so if you log on for a bit and give me a chance to meet you so we can get a signature that'd be great...If you cannot get on tonight it's no problem at all ;)

I may just get some random people to sign the charter so i can get the guild up and running sooner. You can usually pay some low level characters around 5 gold to join your guild and then quit right away...

While I enjoy seeing others being able to play together with one another...I would like to keep this thread just for those looking to play together on Chromaggus...

You can always start another thread for finding others on your server :)

Yeah, sorry about that. I wasn't trying to hijack your thread or anything. Just throwing it out there. Never intended it to me more than a single post, so I didn't bother to make a new thread for it. :)

Also, I like the guild name. Check out a song that shares a name with it (theme song for the guild maybe?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89h-X-tZa_w
 
man guess I have to add quite a few names on since last night. this is picking up quite fast! I'm trying to level up though.. as I'm a lowly 6.

Once the guild is up and running you won't have to bother adding people in the guild to your friends list - you'll have a separate guild tab that will tell you who is in the guild, what level they are, whether they are online, etc. And you can right click the names on that list to talk, group up etc. The guild will also have a separate chat channel you can talk to with "/g" - everyone from the guild that is online will receive your chat.

i'll be joining shortly, very busy right now and dont have the time for reinstalling WoW. Sounds like a very fun guild though... I just have such a hard time leveling on my lonesome after level 12 or so.

I KNOW! I'm really excited and surprised at the turnout on this thread! :D Keep up the input everyone! :)

No guild is still in progress....working out a name right now...

If you were one of the people who voted against the name of the guild...please try and provide suggestions so we can all work together on the name...If i don't recieve any other suggestions I will go with Rumors of War...

I recently started playing WoW (time permitting, I do have a job / life) I currently have a level 20 rogue gnome. But I had been thinking of trying out the other side too.
I'll log on tonight and get a character (toon is it?) going and let you know.

sounds awesome! can't wait to see you on...when you create your "toon" (yes you had it right :p) you should post his name/level/class and race so that I can add him to the guild roster :)

Awesome input from everyone and I'm blown away at the participation and energy behind this whole idea!
