Blu-Ray on all models

That's a bunch of crap! Blu-Ray won't be on all models that soon, there is no way it will come to the iMac within 18 months. Every iMac except for one was on the market for almost two years before its successor was released. There's know way apple will take the risk of releasing a new iMac that soon after the aluminum was released, not after the iphone price drop.

If you knew anything about either formats you would know that apple is on the blu ray board. So I don't think they would be supporting HD DVDs. Unless this is some new marketing scam I haven't heard of yet.

Apple already supports HD DVD in DVD Studio Pro 4...they are committed to both due to the inclusion of H.264.

Warner is on the Blu-Ray board but also release HD DVD's (they support both)...as does Apple. And they can be burned onto SD-DVD's currently since the HD DVD spec allows for Red Laser SD DVD's to be played back as HD DVD's (something Blu-Ray does not do).

As for the rumors, they are clearly off. The first one has no mention at all of the iPhone, which seems odd considering the SDK is due and the 1.1.3 leak came out, as well as all of the rumors about the Apple TV and movie rentals too.

The second one provides I think every recent rumor to be true, never at any of these events has that happened.

These things are always fun to read though.

All the transcripts are fake.

All the real transcripts are always kept well safe inside Steve's underwear until each presentation.

The tablet should be cheaper than MBP because the lack of horsepower, DVD drive, HDD space and graphics.

The mac pro should be refreshed. So the Macbooks.

The Apple TV-Mini is a good idea. Why do you want to have a computer in a room to send data to the TV while you can get the computer ON the TV. No Blu ray-HD-DVD (for now). Hope for a new front row. Hope for an iphone/itouch as a remote control functionality.

No new iphone, just the rumored firmware upgrade.

I would like that Mac Nano to have:

1-Screen, not touchable since nobody likes to have a dirty screen.

2-Physical keyboard, since the majority of people is used to them.

3-Wi-fi and bluetooth, of course!!!

4-The whole area below the keyboard will be multitouch.

5-No CD/DVD drive, but comes with an external USB2.0 one.

6-Comes with a new remote control that will rock with the new front row 3.0.

7-As thin as a pencil !!!

Something like it.

the REAL keynote address

It has been sealed on Funk & Wagners porch since last Tuesday:

Steve enters from backstage and welcomes the audience to MacWorld 2008. He says that there is a lot of ground to cover, so let's get started.

iPhone

He tells audience that the numbers are amazing, yet not good enough. He invites Oprah onto the stage. Applause! She says that she has personally purchased 1 million iPhones, and will be giving them out to her studio audiences throughout 2008!

New Features:

SDK not released yet

The iPhone's most exciting new feature is TASER capability!

It comes in 3 new configurations:

1 volt (attention-getter at parties)
5 volts (nice to meet you)
50 volts (dude, get away from me)

Newton

Yes, the Newton is back, EXACTLY how it looked originally, but at only 1/2 the size. Robin Williams announces the product with Steve Jobs...we call it the:

NANEW

Starbucks update:

Apple will buy into 1/10 of the real estate of every Starbucks, where the coffee shop will sell Apple Products.

It will also feature a Genius Barrista!

There is also a new technology feature, where users can battery-charge their iPods at Starbucks, simply by drinking caffienated products.

MacPro Update:

Complete re-design.

The new MacPro features backpack straps on one side, and an astronaut helmet. Once strapping the MacPro onto one's back and putting the fully functioning NASA helmet on (and with a functioning network card for wireless capability), a User can live for 1 full year without food or water.

They affectionately call it the iBubble.

Michael Jackson comes onto stage, saying that he's been wearing it for the past 3 months, and it is working "very well."

One More Thing:

John Mayer comes onto stage with Steve. They announce the iChat Dating service. John shows how he met Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, and Rikki Lake (to mention a "few"), by using the new service.

They call it: iLove

Keynote ends with John Mayer singing a duet with Hanna Montana.

I think that my recovered keynote has just as much potential!!! Don't you???

What if apple adds a wireless cd/dvd reader that you can fit into a laptop bag. Then the ultra portable would be cool and more accessible to more needs.

let me know what ya'll think!

MacBook Pro... Clockspeeds upped to 2.4 GHz/2.6 GHz

This is where it kinda falls down. MacBook Pros have been available at those speeds since November.

Other than that, these are nice dreams, and some aspects of them may very well be true, but not all of them.

All I hope is that the 15" MacBook Pro gets a decent update at the same price-point before I can afford one

mac mini + apple tv = STUPID

Why would someone want to disconnect their computer hook it up to their tv just to watch iTunes. How would streaming work??

boot up to Front Row??

dumbest idea ever!!!

:apple:

does any one else agree?
if apple thought that was smart then they wold have already done it.
what the need to do to apple tv is

1. make it more affordable
2. make it have hd content (i.e. movies and tv shows)
3. more useful software features (iTunes store, Rentals, plug any ipod in and play, buy movie tickets on apple tv)
4. better remote
5. dvd player (up conversion)

let me know what ya'll think!

I think it's great... I am just hoping that Apple does something more than just give us toys. I hope that the MacPro, MacBook Pro and Cinema Displays get a good redesign that allows them to be Pro machines. And I hope that the iPhone gets a bigger brother that is not tied to AT&T with real smart phone features and EVDO/WiMax.

What are you talking about? the iMac gets updated on average every 185 days. if you don't beleive me you can look at the buyers guide to see when the last few updates were.

I doubt a redesigned Mac Pro would come out. The design is still very, very relevant. Pro users don't care how their desktops look... Especially if they already look like the current Mac Pro does. The Mac Pro is functional to the max. A redesign could definitely hurt Apple's pro sales. (What would they do? Add glass accents to it? Make it fragile?)

I hope for one thing. Hardware accelerated h264 1080p playback. Yes, even the macbook pro is not able to play some of those videos as there is no multi-core ready video player available that could split the video decoding.

Plus the potential of AVIVO or PureVideo is still unused. It made me very sad to realize this :(
So let's hope that there will be some HD strategy updates as Vista has full h264 built-in with directX 10.
Oh and please at least announce a date for the 3G iphone. I really need it in sweden :)

i KNEW i was close to a joke there, but just missed it!!!

thank you for helping me out!

California Dreaming

Keep dreaming people, maybe if we talk about enough stuff and speculate on as many items we can, we'll hit correct on one or two things. Then the guy who "predicted" that will be king for a day and we'll all start looking at the next thing. I just am so satsified with my new MBP 15inch that anything coming from Apple is only going to help me convince more people to consider MACs for their next PC purchase. I've already personally converted 5 people over and as Apple keeps doing better, staying out of the controversy lime light and releasing great products, I think my job will only get easier.

Just like everyone else, I'm super-double-extra excited for this years MacWorld. I certanly don't think Steve will top the hype and excitement of the iPhone confermation unless he releases a 12inch MAC Tablet with a MultiTouch iPhone like interface. I will ship with a wireless keyboard and mouse and have 100 gig of static memory.

Well, there's my two cents.

I think the redesign goes more with adding in more functionality. The HP Blackbird has space for 5 drives and it has two double wide PCI slots. Those are just some of the things that a redesign could include.

With the MacBook Pro, which needs a serious redesign, a change in the case could open up the possibility of having more FW400 ports, USB or eSATA ports, and maybe even a second hard drive... or better cooling for the 2.6GHz chips.

No...... but they could think about maybe putting CURRENT HARDWARE in it.

The ATI x1900xt hits TWO YEARS OLD this week. Worth $400?? I don't think so. Penryn? nVidia 8800GT? 1600 FSB? 2 gigs standard? Realistic pricing?

Apple should take that $15 billion in spending cash and use it for 1) quality conrol and 2) a Mac Pro update.........immediately.
