No one. It's just a gimmick, a way for Apple to now start an (expensive) $99+ battery replacement program. I don't know of anyone who uses a notebook for 8+ hours without plugging it into an AC adapter.

Expect this gimmick battery scheme to trickle down onto the MacBook and 15'' MacBook Pro with the next hardware updates.

it would make more sense on a smaller notebook. you could drain a battery on a long plane ride, but even my 13" is a little big for the plane i can't imagine a 17".

by far, undoubtably,
the WORST macworld ever..
come on apple, pull your finger out, im doing more work here than you are!

im off to build a hackintosh and save some money!

Basically, Apple want to take control of when they release hardware, so other than their previous obligation to release the 17" Macbook Pro, there was no point in releasing anything today. Like i said previously I think we'll see new bits released at separate events like they've done before.

Thats it! What now for the mini!

Who knows, maybe a new model took longer than they thought. Could even be taken off the website. No wonder there were no rumors this year!

I'm glad this is their last macworld, on recent form we're sparred getting all excited only to be let down.

It's just a shame their last macworld has possibly been their worst.

the ones who are ticked off about the event are the ones who are always ticked off about the event. their expectations are too high and should just shut up.

i, however, am very pleased with today's keynote! go apple!

this is why macworld must go. they had nothing good to announce. Without macworld this all would have been a small event or press release.

and the mac mini still has a combo drive. laughable.

Why the iLife And MBP combo Keynote

I just don't get why they presentend the new MBP 17" next to all the consumer software as is iLife and iWork, that goes well with a iMac or Macmini, or a plain Macbook , i fail to see the logic in this .

Steve's real reason...

This is the suckiest MWSF of all time - at least since I have been following it.

Now we know the real reason Steve didn't go. Nothing spectacular to announce -- although the new 17 is nice. Steve should save himself for the times when he can honestly say "this is insanely great."

My "old" 9 month old 17 is great, but incremental improvements are good.
