2.5 weeks since my last battery switch out and I'm sitting at 70%

Much better battery life then my MX revolution, which last's me about 2 days before it needs a charge

mouse eats batteries

I'm now on a USB mouse from my old computer as this is the third set of batteries in about 3 months, going to try rechargeable but not the happiest camper about this battery thing

I bought a set of eneloops (8 AAs and 4 AAAs) and the charger for about $25 from Costco. I'm using 2 AAs in my Magic Mouse and 2 AAs in my digital camera. So far, so good. I'll feel better about not throwing away all those alkalines and lithiums.

I've had the eneloops in my Magic Mouse for about 10 days so far and they are still showing 58%. They have a different sort of discharge curve than alkalines. They only showed about a 70% when I put them in with their original factory charge. Supposedly, they do not drop precipitously but gradually decline.

I thought that was a decent price at Costco but I'm not sure if I'll ever find a use for the AAAs.

Just saw this on Engadget

It's and induction charger for the magic mouse.

I loaded mine with Energizer Litium batteries more than a month ago and the charge still shows 100%.

I did that at first too. You will find that it will stay at 100% and then drop like a stone.

The charge percent reading is just based on battery voltage, quite crude.

I find my parent's iMac somehow goes through the batteries on their wireless keyboard and magic mouse super quick - 2 or 3 weeks and that's it. Could be the fact that they're rechargeable batts.

My magic mouse on the other hand goes on and on.

batteries for wireless mouse

Only had my iMac 1 month + and it told me my batteries were low (didn't know there was a way to actually check this). Change batteries, worked OK until next day (when I had turned off overnite). Next day, computer could not locate mouse. Had to call tech support, turn off computer + some other shenanigans, before it would FIND the mouse. Also was not aware that if I turn off the Mac, the mouse automatically turns off?

My Sanyo eneloop rechargeables last about 3 to 3 and a half weeks in my Magic Mouse and much, much longer in my wireless keyboard. The Magic Mouse does seem to have quite an appetite for batteries! But I'm OK with this sort of life from the rechargeables.

P.S. I only got about 5 weeks out of Energizer Ultimate Lithiums (non-rechargeable) in my Magic Mouse, so I would not recommend wasting your money on those.

Can you tell who actually manufactures the batteries that come with the Apple charger?

I think it was releaved on this site that it is Sandy 2100maH batteries.

Big surprise as they outlast my Uniross 2500maH

odd thing i got the apple batteries after getting sick of popping in energizers, after the first initial charge the battery meter only showed 58%. after a couple weeks its only dropped a couple points though. is that normal? thanks

I notice similar behavior with my Sanyo eneloop rechargeables and other users have noted this as well with rechargeables. Seems normal.

ive been using my magic mouse for about a month now everyday. It is still 100% battery life, i even played games with it a few times to try and make the percentage change but still 100%

Since updating to 10.6.7 my Magic Mouse battery level shows as 100%. It only changed to 99% briefly and then went back to 100%. My iStat Pro widget however shows the battery level currently at 72%. Seems to be a problem with 10.6.7

I've noticed that my Magic Mouse batteries gained lots of new life too after the 10.6.7 OS update. My battery level jumped up to the high 80s after having been much lower. I use Sanyo eneloops (and have been very satisfied with them). Hmmmmmmm. What's going on with the update?
