MagSafe Duo Charger for iPhone 12 and Apple Watch Now Available for Purchase

Then you are looking for a different product.
A part from the price, this seems to be very convenient for traveling to me, since you need one less cable and wallplug. and it neatly folds together. But of course you can use it at home too, so you don't need 2 solutions.

There are plenty of dock solutions already. But i don't know any other traveling charger like this. (yet. i'm sure it won't take long)
Agreed it's one of those when you do go away you can use it but it's also small and compact for a bedside charger. a lot of chargers I have used takes up quite a lot of space.

I guess you could use it at home, but it doesn’t look weighty enough to use as a permanent solution. Don’t get me wrong, for traveling, this would be fine. My disappointment mainly boils down to the fact that they only designed one dual charger and it happens to be almost exclusively for night time in a hotel.

Maybe this is completely unrelated but a case for your watch that also charges it would be great, that way you could charge it on the go.

As for as the iPhone charger, where in the hell is the smart charging case? Why is the only MagSafe accessory a wallet? Why not some sort of battery too?

I’d gladly pay >$200 for an Apple product that charges your watch on the go. Have you ever tried charging your watch in an airport or on a plane? It sucks, and this product wouldn’t make either scenario better

I just googled it and apparently they already filed a patent for one several years ago

How would it look stupid in your house? It’s a wireless charger...the main use for this will be likely by your bedside.

Rather foolish to think this will be used as just a travel Accessory
I would think that the people this was marketed to would probably prefer something weightier on their nightstand, so they could grab the phone to answer it in the middle of the night without pulling the charger and the watch off the nightstand with it

Depends how easy it to remove the videos I’ve seen is you can pick it up normally without pulling it all off...will see I guess

For me I want something compact at my bedside that doesn’t take up much space and having the option to take away which obviously this would be ideal for

Once again we are getting ripped off in Australia. $129 in US should equate to $175 in Aus based on current exchange rate of 0.74 but instead the price here is $199.

Just ordered my unit. Not charging at 15W is nice as the more wattage the battery gets the quicker it deteriorates. As to the price, yes, it's a rip off, but I couldn't resist buying it.

The one I've had the past year from Amazon (I think it was) cost around £30 and works perfectly. It folds flat for travel. It charges my watch, phone and AirPods off one usb-c. What will £100+ extra get me here?

you're paying for the brand like with anything.

In this instance I strongly disagree with it. I get it with the actual phone or watch etc as you get the eco system and everything that comes with it - but a charger is well, a charger. That is literally is.
sure but there's a reason so many 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 chargers from brands like apple, mophie, belkin are all over $100...you are buying for the design and brand even when other cheap versions still do the same job.

Got one, love the jealous people that can’t afford one and they feel they have to trash it, it Must stink feeling that way
I purchased two as partner and I recognise the space saving from one less cable and power adapter in our iPad bags. I am repurposing the existing Mophie duel and triple Qi chargers around the house. I wished the MagSafe Duo Charger was released earlier for my holiday flight out tomorrow however the MagSafe (single) Charger will suffice and already reduced the amount of bulk I carry. Apple makes better accessories than third parties. They're AUD199 here which is comparable to Mophie and Apple's USB C adapter is light and significant smaller than Mophie's.

HomePod mini (with 20W charger included): $99
Duocharger with the 20W: $129 + $19: $148

I see why people react with "overpriced".
....or possibly the fact that the HomePod Mini is reasonably priced. If the HomePod Mini had been priced at £149, then would £129 for the Duo still be perceived as horrendously overpriced?

Don’t buy it if you don’t like it, but no need to criticize those of us who want and like this product.
People are generally criticizing the product and the price, not the people buying it. Some people seem to be placing their actual self-worth in this product and/or their ability to buy it.

It’s very much possible to be able to afford this charger and also think it’s overpriced. It’s also possible to think it’s overpriced, but still purchase it as well, which I’ll be doing. The folks like @WolfSnap and @Billyk711 bragging about buying this are funny, but in a sad way.

Don’t forget the $199 Apple charges is inclusive of your GST. If you divide by 11, that’s the amount of GST you’re paying: $18.09.

It’s easy to calculate the pretax price now, just slip the decimal: $180.90. After FX conversion you’re paying $133.27. So Apple is about $4 ahead atm.

Already Preparing to Ship! Guess the Canadian warehouse already has them on hand.
I wish I remembered to check availability this morning then I may have had a Friday delivery date too!

If you're into sleek accessories, especially for travel, this is a pretty cool piece of kit, ngl.
Especially since it doesn't need a cable or power plug. Right?

My other cables without the cables are pretty sleek too: even invisible.

Discoloration? My wife and I both use the MagSafe to charge our 12's -- haven't had any discoloration issues... The leather case has a mark, but that's expected -- and kinda looks nice in it's own way...

Not the cases, the actual MagSafe puck itself develops a yellowish color around the ring. Almost looks like a burn mark to me, I returned mine an Apple employee told me he’s seen many cases about this. I’m not hopeful Apple will officially ever admit to the quality issue so I’ll be on the lookout for other official third party MagSafe chargers because I really enjoyed the accessory, just not Apples implementation of it.

Oh dang, I was sort of thinking of getting the regular MagSafe charger, but that doesn’t look good.
