Not the cases, the actual MagSafe puck itself develops a yellowish color around the ring. Almost looks like a burn mark to me, I returned mine an Apple employee told me he’s seen many cases about this. I’m not hopeful Apple will officially ever admit to the quality issue so I’ll be on the lookout for other official third party MagSafe chargers because I really enjoyed the accessory, just not Apples implementation of it.
Burn marks? Doubt it.

My guess is grime from your phone/case transferring to the charger.

The problem with that theory is that I wipe down both my phone and my watch with a disinfecting cloth before bed every night. I have a blue Apple silicone case, so theres nothing that I can think of that would leave a YELLOW mark on the buck besides some sort of currency heat emitted by the magnets. Apple must have done thousand of hours of testing with these chargers and no one brought this to their attention?

That's why I doubt it would be heat related.

But who knows, they missed noticeable signal drop from a hand in the past.

Leaving the country in a few days and don't have time for one to ship. Anyone know if these will be in stores any time soon? Or if they will be available in Japan?

I know but none have the pop-up watch charger feature for some reason. I’m hoping that now that they have the Apple one as a prototype they’ll start making them with that feature

There is one...

Edit: nope... false ad.. sorry!

12+ hour flight.. in 2020?
It’s not like the charger turns into a pile of ash after 2020.

But I’ve taken 2 international flights this year, and 26 other trips involving overnights. A simplified travel charging solution is always welcome when traveling. And hotels are always a mixed bag when it comes to how many outlets you can find and how convenient they are to get to.

I get if people don’t see the point for a home charging with this. I don’t either. But for travel? This is maybe not the prettiest solution but it’s clean.

I have not been in a hotel the last two years that did not have multiple USB ports. 2 cables is all I need. This seems like a cool but IMO overpriced piece of kit.

Got one, love the jealous people that can’t afford one and they feel they have to trash it, it Must stink feeling that way
I can easily afford one. And while there are numerous paths to build up substantial savings to where an expense like this would be trivial, I can tell you that I didn’t get here by buying products like this.

This looks like a good travel companion. It doesn't matter what it costs. It a nice design for a particular purpose. It isn't supposed to compete with $29 chargers from Amazon.

Mine shipped earlier today and shows delivery tomorrow even though it showed Friday for delivery when I ordered it. :D

No you *don't* get two of those things for free. You get a lightning to usb-c cable with the phone which doesn't charge charge other USB-C devices in the house such as a spouse's Android phone, a laptop, headphones, PS5/Xbox controllers, list goes on... Also an Apple watch charging cable will never give you a single cable charging experience which is one of the main reasons for getting the duo charger.

Keyword *if*.

Not everyone that bought an iPhone 12 bought an iPad with a USB-C port. Talk about drinking the juice, that's some classic cherry picking of info there. 🤦‍♂️

1. A MagSafe can charge most modern Android phones and other accessories for one since it's Qi charging compatible. Lightning cable can't do that. Immediately you're wrong there.
2. People prefer wireless charging. What you're arguing is essentially "why do people want wireless charging" which is a completely separate argument as it has less to do with the duo charger. If you want wireless charging, MagSafe guarantees alignment which is the #1 problem with Qi chargers as many have started their day with 10% battery because of Qi chargers.
These accessories are meant for iphones in general but sure you can use them for Android I never said you couldn't. You get android charging accessories with your android products. You can also buy other cheaper wireless chargers that charge both iphones and Android phones. And yes nobody NEEDS to have wireless charging capabilities when you can charge with a wire.

I think you’re slightly over dramatizing things. Sure wireless chargers aren’t necessary because you can just simply use a cord but they are a convenience. Having a newer MacBook isn’t necessary for most people. Unless you’re a professional even taking twice as long to do something isn’t going to hurt you. Just because it’s a first world problem doesn’t mean it’s not worth spending money on. You don’t have to be set for life to spend money on something that’s not absolutely required. I go to Starbucks but could get the same coffee at home for a fourth of the price. That doesn’t mean I’m set for life. Of course when it comes to your money only you can make that decision. Some people are that tight with her money and while I personally won’t do that I can’t fault them. Just remember you can’t take it with you 🤷‍♂️
Again starbucks is different from another form of coffee that tastes different. Charging is charging on difference is how quickly some things can charge vs other things. Spend your money anyway you want. It's your money. Still doesn't mean the Apple chargers aren't over priced for what they are and do.

It's small, and can fit in a suitcase with less bulk than the alternatives. I don't think the target buyer is looking to replace their nightstand charger with this.. But, who knows, maybe I'm wrong??

I just ordered a $100 stand from Grovemade for my desk that requires a $40 MagSafe adapter and a $20 charger. That's WAY more expensive than this and way less useful. But, it's super pretty, so I can enjoy looking at it on my desk. Like I said, lots of people don't care about a few hundred..

that thing is awesome btw. I am very tempted, I need to wait for my next welfare check.
