I've tried to search this thread for a previous mention but came up empty -- anyone intrigued by this car mount/charger like I am? I like that I can plug in the cable if I want charging, but can just use as a convenient mount otherwise. Seems to have the handshake required for 15W, and has the bottom magnet too...

This makes me think that you could order these magnet rings, stick them to the back of a phone case, car mount, desk, wall, door, whatever you want, and have mag safe mounting about anywhere

That looks just like a number of options people are picking up from AliExpress. There are two general versions of this. One that looks like what you've linked to and the other is a rectangle with rounded corners.

I'm a bit dubious. I've found what looks like the same charger from multiple Ali-Express sellers. This one lists input voltage/amps https://www.aliexpress.com/item/328...earchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

Problem is, The math works out to a max input wattage of just 15w at max... which makes me doubt it could deliver 15w to the device. But who knows... The site you linked to has some reviews some of which seem like they might be legit, others seem shady.

So after some tests, the magsafe charger and the iOttie CD mount works perfect. The puck attaches really strong to the smaller magnetic circle on the iOttie mount. Phone does not spin or fall off after doing a few intense runs.

This is my first attempt at magsafe mount and it turned out really good.. you guys should try it. Mount costs like $10-$15.

Any update on shipping? Did you receive it yet?
I'm hoping any day now. Looks like it cleared customs and currently says EN ROUTE TO DHL ECOMMERCE since yesterday. But still waiting for a tracking number. Hoping by end of this week and will update here when I get it with impressions.

Has anyone found a non-charging magnetic mount that works without a MagSafe case?

My old anker one isn’t strong enough.

Successful 5 hour road trip with my mount.

How did you manage to attach cable?
I hate when cable is bouncing around gearbox knob (manual gearbox)

So I finally got the one I ordered on eBay for $25. Feels very cheap, also can with an attached regular USB cable. I thought it came with a detachable USB-C but apparently I miss read or assumed wrong. The glossy black gets dirty and is a fingerprint magnet already after just removing from the box. The hold is actually good though, I don’t think my phone will come off of it unless I hit a major bump. I’ll spend some more time with it and see how that holds up. I’ll test out the charging on it on my way home from work. If it doesn’t charge well I could always just clip the cord and just use it as a mount. Edit: I added a metal plate to the back so it could attach to my existing mount. It came with the prices for a vent mount but I don’t care for vent mounts so this is the route I went with.
does that come pre wired? I ordered two from aliexpress with usb c on the underside of it.

Thank you for the link. I placed an order.

FYI, that looks like a standard Garmin ball style mount. They make zillions of mounting options for these. Just look up "Garmin" mount on amazon.

The cord comes attached, it’s not removable and what I thought was to be a USB-C turned out to be a USB-A. So that was a big let down. Hope yours turns out better but if they’re all from the same makers then yours will probably be the same.

I’m actually fine with the setup I have. The metal forms a strong attachment to the magnet from my existing mount. So no having to buy anything else. Thanks for the info though.

I have both the ESR Halo and the TeckApe iPhone 12 MagSafe chargers. So far the ESR one works well as advertised. I had problems getting the mount in the vent at first to stay still but I found a solution. The the TeckApe seemed to be most promising based on the video review, but today I got it in the mail and the magnet didn’t stick to the phone. I emailed them for a refund

I received the MagSafe car mount/ charger from Zeera. I bought it based on ENFORCERMAN’s review on YouTube. It took 10 days to receive it (from China).

Well, I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. It meets all of my expectations. The car mount comes with a very strong spring mount to attach to the car vent. It is very secure as it has a hook type clasp. It is on a ball mount so you can move it in limitless directions. The MagSafe charger has a really good magnet in it. My iPhone 12 Pro in the Apple MagSafe silicone case has a satisfying click in when attached. When plugged into the cigarette lighter charger, the phone will briefly show the green mag circle with the charge level. I took my car for a drive on a dirt road with potholes and continuous washboard surface. No jiggling or looseness of the phone to the magnet. It held tight and secure.

FYI - this came with a black USB-C cord which I am using as it is less noticeable in my car. I did purchase a higher watt car charger to take advantage of the 15W charge.

Also included in the package are both desk and wall mounts. I put them away as I will likely only use the car vent mount. It works perfectly for me. I’m one happy camper with my purchase. I ordered one for my husband for Christmas.
