I charged with the MagSafe for about 40mins and the blue MagSafe silicone case...so far nothing yet for me. I just wonder if Apple during their testing saw the same things happening and just let it go....

As I said previously, my case shows these same marks and i've not even got a mag safe charger yet.

It's a flaw in how all the cases are made with these magnets inside. Apple won't care.
I’d just return it if that’s the cause. Apple may not care but then they haven’t got your money if they’ve had to give it you back. I certainly wouldn’t want a case that shows witness marks on it after a couple of days use. There is obviously a slight protrusion where the magnets are located and putting the phone on surfaces is exposing where the magnets are situated within the silicone case. That’s pretty shoddy and these cases are already eye watering high price IMO.

I only charged it once with the MagSafe and depending on how I hold the case under lights, I can see the outline of the ring and even the small vertical row under the ring. Seems like its something that was overlooked but yeah wonder if this may be more noticeable in the long run. Should be able to see the ring and the row in this pic as well....

Another way to look at this is the fact Apple created an absolutely gopping clear case with an ugly white hangman’s noose on the back. Could it possibly be that this pattern is a deliberate design tactic by Apple to display the fact you have a MagSafe compatible iPhone 12? Perhaps these witness marks were a deliberate evolving pattern that shows up after a small amount of use??? Food for thought ;)

If you hold them up to the light at certain angles it'll be visible on all of them. People saying there silicone case isn't like that aren't looking closely enough.

The case is going to get wear and tear saving the back of the phone from the same. I don’t see the big deal here.

I suppose Apple knew of it, and thought customers would appreciate paying for chargers and magnetic cases and they could at least throw in a SpaceShip ring on the cases for free, reflective of Apple's new headquarters. It's by design. ;)

I personally do not like this and to me this points to shoddiness and disregard for customers. They think customers might just replace cases annually now or what!

3-4 days of MagCharger use... I seriously cannot see any marks at all.

On the inside of the case, there is a slight raised impression where the ring etc is. Maybe it is a QC issue with some cases where the magnate is to close to the outside edge of the case instead of the inside?!?

Probably more visible on the navy blue and plum cases as they are darker too.

Apple may not have thoroughly tested the MagSafe with the cases If they did, maybe they were hoping it wouldn’t be widespread. Seeing more and more of this complaint, I wouldn’t be happy as a customer. I had ordered the MagSafe and was supposed to pick it up this past weekend at the local store. I canceled.

I can see the ring imprint. If a person got the ring imprint after a year’s use, I could see that but, not after 1 charge or even worse, after 30 minutes.

I still have a feeling that the magnetic ring is raising the surface of the back of the case if it's not set deep enough and this is why it becomes more visible from a low angle as you'll see the shadow as it raises off the back of the case. If that's what's happening, it's a manufacture tweak plus better QC to ensure it doesn't happen.

I know the watch bands QC has slipped of late. Some of the catches on the straps don't slide in as easily as they once did. Why is this happening?!? Who knows, but if it is a QC thing they need to get a grip on it as it will reflect badly on Apple.

Edit... Just to say, if it is because it's slightly raised up on the back, it will look ok when bought but after you start using it, it will become obvious as it will wear faster than the rest of the case...like if you place a piece of paper onto a rough surface and rub it with a pencil it will create an image of the texture below.

What I'm noticing lately is that when changing between MagSafe silicone cases (kumquat and navy) most of the time I don't get the case color identification pop up on the iPhone 12 Pro screen. Looks like it's very radon and not well implemented. I noticed the same issue in one if the video reviews posted online a few days ago.

I’ve noticed that. If the phone goes into the case to fast, the phone doesn’t respond but, if two corners go in first, pause then the next two then it does trigger. It certainly feels like it needs perfecting a bit more!

I second this. I mean, the fresh new tires on my car get worn out over time... don’t hear me crying.

In all seriousness though, after a week or more, you aren’t going to even be paying attention to all the scuffs, scratches and worn edges of the case, so what is a ring around the apple logo going to do? The case is primarily meant to protect the phone.

But I get for some people phones, cases and the like are objectively fashion statements, and to those people I’d just say charge with a cord instead of the MagSafe.

I cancelled the order for the MagSafe. I'll keep plugging it in the way I always have. It's not worth the risk for the perceived award.
