Yeah I just tried, it does look like poo compared to the PC version. Wonder how long they will take to fix it.

Why would they offer a delayed update schedule on the Mac without any sort of notification?

I wonder if that's default for this developer?

Hellogames tend to take a while to get things going.

These new features are actually a preview from the new game they are making, which hasn't been announced for macOS (as far as I know) so maybe they are not compatible.

The comments are rough.

Sadly if I remember an earlier interview correctly Epic expects folks to use upscaling. So they are not surprised that current gen beefy cards have a hard time running the games.

Kind of like how Crysis needed really powerful hardware to run at higher visual settings.

Switching to UE and this doesn’t sound like a good combination.

They got roasted (rightfully so) for the state of the CP2077 release on console. PC was better (you just needed powerful hardware).

I do with they stuck with their custom engine, but if costs to modernized the engine are outweighing the cost to switch to UE 5, I understand why they are switching.

Interesting that this came out yesterday. UE can't handle large games well.

Feed the Deep is coming to Mac on Aug 16.

Ya'll see the Star Wars Outlaws system requirements? Can't even get native 4k60 with a 4080. This game isn't even using Unreal Engine, it uses the Snowdrop engine. I wonder why they didn't choose to use Anvil and get this game a macOS/iOS release.

Because it's made by the Snowdrop engine people (Massive). Anvil is an older, visually less impressive engine too.

Thats where Nvidia Geforce Now Ultimate tier comes in.

- Server RTX 4080
- 24GB VRAM
- Identical specs to a 4090
- DLSS 3.5
- Supports MacOS game mode
- Supports MacOS 120hz

4K max EVERYTHING. My M3 Max is going to be super cool.

”to achieve the recommended settings(1080p 60FPS), you’ll need a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or a Radeon RX 6700XT. A GeForce RTX 4080 or Radeon RX 7900XT is required for Ultra settings, which target 4K at 60FPS. However, it should be noted that all these targeted graphics are listed with upscaling. As such, the RTX 3060 Ti will run the game at 720pand upscale it to 1080p in the above recommended settings. In some cases, you might even have to use frame generation for more stable frame rates.”

Codename: Ocean Keeper is coming to Apple Silicon and they're looking for beta testers:

"Hi everyone! Ocean Keeper, a mining underwater rogue-lite game with tower defense elements is looking for beta testers on MacOS

Interested? Here's how to join the beta:

1.) Join our Discord

2.) Follow a few simple steps to pass the test (check #beta group)

3.) Get a Steam game key and start testing"

This 1.4.6 version seems the same as the Steam one. And yes steam version is fully native now, nice.

I checked Steamdb but it doesn't say "macosapplesilicon". Maybe they haven't updated the info yet.

"Mythic is an open-source Epic Games Launcher alternative and a normal game launcher for macOS, written in Swift. This project was created to provide a GUI frontend for Legendary and to play Windows games using Apple's game porting toolkit."

"Mythic uses the Mythic Engine, which is a derivative of Apple's Game Porting Toolkit (commonly referred to as GPTK), functioning as an API translator for Windows code. Performance is variable but closer to native performance than ever before."

"Compared to Heroic, Mythic has various features that make it a native experience. Mythic is written completely in Apple's own proprietary language, Swift. This gives Mythic a native macOS app appearance, as well as helps performance significantly. Heroic also makes use of Electron, which is known to have high resource consumption and is prone to clunky performance. Mythic's engine is a culmination of Apple's own Game Porting Toolkit, as well as other well known enhancements such as DXVK and soon, Winetricks."

"Almost any game or app that runs on Windows can run on Mythic (via GPTK), with the exception of games that use the Windows UWP platform and games that use kernel-level anti-cheats. Whether support for this will come is unknown and will come at the discretion of those working on wine. For a (currently limited) list of games that have been tested, visit the docs or the community-contributable spreadsheet."
