It's actually interesting to note who Nat Brown actually is.

Impressive! Didn't know that. One of the first engineers to join the Xbox project back in 1999, a VR engineer on Valve's VR team and now graphics engineering manager at Apple!

Unlike CoD Warzone mobile Warframe is coming to Mac in Feb 2024. The mobile version will be playable on M1/M2 and beta testers have already installed it.

Any chance we could get the Quake 2 remastered on mac? 🥺

Even better, apparently there has been chat on twitter about an Unreal remaster, that would be awesome.

Probably not officially. Still no Mac version of the Quake 1 remaster. The source code has been released though.

Does anyone know if Fort Solis was pushed to October to fix performance issues? Reading PC reviews makes it clear that the game (well it looks like all UE5 games so far) has horrible performance on fairly beefy hardware.

Even ignoring the performance issues, the game is just bad in general. It's getting panned even on PS5.

Great! Are these keyboard shortcuts going to be replacing the old Terminal commands in all cases, or will you still be required to use the Terminal for the first time activating the HUD?

As far as I know nothing replaces terminal commands generally so shortcuts like these work as additional solutions.

Yeah, but, you’re not an Apple insider, nor an Apple employee.

Maybe you or anyone else running Sonoma as a beta could check to see if the new keyboard shortcut works to toggle on and off the performance HUD?

I misunderstood your previous question. You are asking if the performance hud still needs to be activated first in terminal to be able to work with the keyboard shortcuts. I'm still on Monterey but Nat Brown says "toggle logging on/off with SHIFT+F8". It means you can activate the hud with GUI command too and don't need the terminal. What I meant was the GUI commands don't replace the terminal commands. You can still use the terminal but don't have to now.

I’m just glad they didn’t find a way to include the OPTION key. 😂

I am happy to see more games get proper Native Metal ports. And to see developers support running iPad apps (Like Warframe) on macOS as well.

Now if only Mihoyo would get their heads out of their asses...

App Store exclusivity is like shooting yourself in the foot.
I don’t like any exclusivity. My ideal world I would love it if PS5 could play Halo, Xbox could play Horizon, PC and Mac can play everything. I even want Nintendo on PC/Mac. Just imagine Zelda Tears of the Kingdom at 4K 60fps. I want it! Such a beautiful last two Zelda games and you can’t fully enjoy it because of it running at such low resolution.

You can play ZToK on your PC, and from what I've seen it looks and runs much better.

That was a pleasant surprise. I think we can call it AAA. Reminds me of Bioshock Infinite and looks great. Either Apple is involved as usual or the South Korean dev Neowiz has been inspired by Capcom bringing RE Village to Mac. We didn't get Elden Ring so it's fun to get a new soulslike game.

I heard vague rumours earlier in the year about Lies of P coming to Mac, but those were really 'a friend of a friend of a friend' thing.

If it's not AAA, then it's certainly very close.

Be interesting to see how the base M1 Airs handle it, since the recommended sys reqs are pretty decent.
