Finally, on the 10th iteration of iOS we can finally delete stock apps. One of the most annoying features of iOS ever and they don't even mention they've fixed it? There are millions of people round the world that has that exact same folder full of crap they never use which can finally (mostly) be banished! Who really cares about Emojis, it seemed to be endless talk of them during the keynote, this announcement would have sent the crowd wild! Thank you Apple!

It does remove them. I tried to share something and Notes was gone.

If you don't uninstall a stock app does it now allow you to toggle it off in the share sheet?

finally! these are the ones from the main home screen that you may delete
[doublepost=1465849795][/doublepost]these are the ones you may delete from the second page
if i delete the calculator, will it still show up on the control center!?!
awkward?

Soooo if you uninstall let's say the mail app, will iOS ask you what to complete the action with? Since alot of Apple apps reley on the standard installed apps, what happens when one or several are gone?

I almost bet it would prompt you to download the mail app from apple :)

if you delete it then it will be removed automatically from Control Center
to be replaced with? an empty slot? have you actually tried or just assume that?

so far the control center content and layout was fixed and couldn't be changed, is this going to change with ios10?

Yay. Stock apps are removable. But not all, it seems
  1. Contacts app from an iPhone only. If you remove Contacts, you won’t lose your contact information. You can still find all of that information in the Phone app.
  2. If you remove the Music app, it won’t be available to use with CarPlay.
  3. The News app will be removable in a later version of iOS 10 beta.
  4. If you try to remove the Watch app from an iPhone that’s paired with an Apple Watch, an alert asks you to unpair your Apple Watch before you can remove the app.

Don't you invest in the stock market ?

Well yes, but it is other apps which I will be delighted to delete. Watch pairing app and Tips top that list. :)

Yes yes yes. I've always thought the Contacts app is redundant. I always go to the Phone app for that information.

Out of all the things they announced today, this is one of the most important to me. It's nice that stock apps can finally be removed. That makes them less like bloatware. More importantly, the apps can now be updated individually like Google's stock Android apps. This should help eliminate the "I don't have enough space to update" problems that occur when the entire OS had to be updated. Also, bugs can potentially be identified, isolated, and fixed in a quicker manner. Damn good job.

Delete stock apps. Check. Now all I need is the ability to choose defaults and an app drawer. If that happens, I can imagine the internal battle I'd have choosing between iOS and Android.

If we can delete default apps, what about replacement apps? Do they work in Siri, do they work in Safari, do they work in apps?

If I click send email in Safari for example, what does it open if mail is deleted?

Millions? You have facts to back that up?

Now this is nice, under accessibility there are Display Accommodation settings which allow you to select colorblindness filters as well as change the hue of the display

Will it be possible to delete the Photos app, hence allowing other apps manage storage on the device? That's IMO the most intrusive application of all.

A few threads above yours by Bushido:

he uninstalled mail app and everywhere its referenced it just asks you to reinstall it. This of course doesn't mean you can use extensions or share sheets for 3rd party mail apps.

Well that's unfortunate. Common sense would think you could just choose your default apps in settings if you can delete them.
