I gotta say, istocknow is pretty awesome. For as much as it has been mentioned in this thread hopefully people are trying it out. If not, do so. Helped us.

There used to be a way to donate to them, but it is no longer there. It’s not often a service comes along that is as helpful as theirs and it is free. No option to donate, and not much (if any) ads anywhere. Not sure where they are paying their rent

Got a notification from iStock today and snagged a 44mm Space Black. Return window for my 44mm SS ended Friday but going to see if I can put on a good face and puppy dog eyes and get them to exchange it. I have AppleCare+ on the SS so maybe that will help. Worth a shot! If they won't do it I'll just cancel the order right there. Or see how much I'll lose selling the SS or something.

You could always sell the stainless 44 mm, assuming you have it almost in excellent condition, you Will lose some value, but could pay the difference for the black stainless if you justify the cost.

Might give that a shot! If I can do it and only lose $50 or so it would be worth it. Losing $100 or more would be borderline not worth it though. Hmm.

Ahem! I’ll take it off your hands!!

Funny thing I had a shot at a 44 SB SS milanese band, but hesitated for 10 seconds then it was gone... I was tempted just to get my hands on a 44 mm Stainless steel anything , but I’m holding out for SS or gold.

Got a 44mm Space Black w/ Sport Band to trade? Ha
[doublepost=1539052464][/doublepost]
Yes, today I was seeing availability of most 44mm SS models and variations from NYC up to Boston. Against my better judgment, I bought a SS with the sport band and was able to return my 15 day old aluminum Watch. Thank you Apple! :D

Awesome! Hoping they will accept mine for exchange too!!

Good for u guys...

No stock for SS 44mm here in singapore for 2weeks
Except hermes models

im 2 days past my return period (16 days) but i called apple customer service, and the guy cancelled my original gold SS and let me buy the space black SS. actually, the first two i called did not offer me a cancellation, but the third guy easily cancelled my order and sent me a confirmation email. i just have to drive 1.5 hours to get it now. just wanted to share for those who passed the return period.

Picked up a SS 44mm white band (which I quickly swapped out with my existing leather brown classic buckle band) at my store here in California.

Absolutely worth the money! This is my first stainless steel and it’s absolutely beautiful.

Special shoutout to all the folks here keeping us updated and to iStockNow!

Space Gray SS 44mm is available now at Lenox but it's a 40 min drive now and with traffic I dunno. Plus that mall is a CF. Cumberland is easier for me since I live 10 miles away. Perimeter had the same earlier today too.

I just checked at 11:30pm and they do have some of the 44mm SS in stock! I just ordered one to be picked up tomorrow.

Picked up my 44mm SBSS Milanese in Dallas today. I received a notice from iStockNow for a watch in Nashville @ 12:53pm but it was gone by the time I checked at 1:06pm. That prompted me to check the Dallas stores since I am here for the week...SBSS Black Band in stock...called them asap and it was gone but the young lady said they had just checked 2 SBSS 44mm Milanese in if I would be interested in one of those....handed over my CC # so fast she could barely keep up. :)

I was on day 15 also, I wasn't sure how strict Apple was about the 14 day return, but I had nothing to lose. I packed up my SG 44mm aluminum and took it to my local Apple store last night and they said no problem, I got the full refund. Huge relief!

Exactly that, nothing to lose. I was pretty sure they'd bend the time limit, but if they didn't, I could just cancel the purchase. Very nice, and as I said, thanks to Apple. Very glad that worked out for you the same way!

Yes. I have been a SS skeptic, and I still think it probably doesn't make a lot of economic sense, but it doesn't have to. It's truly a beautiful upgrade.

I still have the the old Black Stainless Steel and have worn it almost everyday since I picked one up early in 2017. It just felt great...I like the weight, durability. And it simply looked nice and still does. But my original Apple Sport took a back seat, I BARELY wore it - and should have sold it back then. Plus with that sport I always worried about scratching the case, the screen (I had a goofy bumper on it, a terrible screen protector also) ..you really don't have to do this with the Steel. I felt the same way with the new S4 Alum. The thought I have to be careful always, I already DID bump it a few times - no damage thankfully. But in hindsight I kept yelling at myself "Should have gone w/ the SS" - My mind was fixated after seeing this photo attached thinking "WOW, this is nice!" Then other pics in the "Show Us Your Watch" After that my mind was made up and the hunt was on trying to find the steel! I know the steel gets "micro scratches" over time, I'm pretty good at keeping it nice looking - but that maybe unavoidable. Also the value will drop big time by next year - I know that. Not a big deal, I don't upgrade watches every year and plan to keep this for more than 2 years.

And I swear, it's an odd illusion - I think the Silver Stainless somehow appears larger for some reason in certain angles. Not sure why, it is the first silver Apple Watch so maybe I'm not used to this. I know it's the same size, who knows..I do like this "illusion" though. I simply like large watches. :)

Well, the Apple gods were smiling upon me last night. Unfortunately it wasn't all without incident. What should have been a three hour trip ended up taking five hours. A suicidal man walked onto the freeway, effectively shutting down traffic in all directions. Fortunately the police were able to peacefully (for the most part) subdue him after four hours of not following their orders. I got lucky in the fact that two highway patrol vehicles blocked the freeway directly in front of me and forced me off the exit. If I had made it past them a minute before that, I would have been stuck in that parking lot of an interstate until well after the Apple Store closed.

I was a little bummed when the gal at the Apple Store told me that they wouldn't give me anything for my Space Gray Series 2. Funny thing is, if I enter the serial number on the Apple website, it says they will let me trade it in for $115. Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation?

I wish there was a way to donate to istocknow too. I think they mention something about using social media if they helped you out, but I don't use social media (facebook, twitter, etc.). Maybe they get some assistance from retailers? The last news on their blog is from 2017, so maybe it isn't actively developed anymore. Odd.

Is Apple even churning these out? Nothing seems to be popping out for in-store pickups (even using iStock), at least here in North America.

Not many.... I only saw OH, NY, FL and one other state get some yesterday. Luckily I'm in Ohio and got my SS 44mm during morning hours.

Yesterday they popped up in various states all across the U.S., not just in OH, NY, and FL. Most of them appeared a little later in the day than usual. I was able to order online yesterday morning and pick up last night, and I'm in UT.

I started seeing the 44mm Steel pop up in Maryland around 8:30, 9am yesterday outside Baltimore. Then in Delaware, NJ, NY by 12pm. PA looked like it appeared around 1.

For the heck of it I checked stores in midwest. Also Denver, LA, SF, Seattle area last night and they had them also. Not every single store...but a LOT. Hope the trend continues this week for those who still want one.

*I DID get the IStock emails, they just ended up in my darn Spam folder.
So I was wrong, the "Notify" feature does work.

I still have the first generation 42mm SS with link bracelet. That watch is very slow and useless now, but I never sold it or gave it away. Perhaps someday I’ll return to SS and reuse the bracelet. The craftsmanship is beautiful. I take it out every now and then to admire it. The AW is bulbous in appearance at certain angles, and the link bracelet balances out the look.

I used iStocknow's Telegram bot to get an instant push notification. I noticed emails were somewhat delayed.

Just happened to check again last night, and the South Coast Plaza Store had a SS Black for pickup today! I'm just hoping that they will let me trade in my launch day Space Grey Aluminum. I would think they would since I'm only a few days past the return window and I'm trading up, but we'll see.

Yes, shouldn’t be a problem, though it’s up to the discretion of the store. I had my original order cancelled by phone customer service, so that’s an option, too.
When I picked up the gold stainless steel watch in the store, I saw the space black next to it and instantly knew that’s the one I wanted. So glad I was able to exchange it. Apple has a good refund policy and I almost feel bad for returning it but apples screwed me over in the past so I don’t feel that bad. Space black is where it’s at!

Lol. I’m in Ohio also, and drove to Novi Michigan to pick up the first SS 44mm that popped up. By the time I got back home the apple store 15 mins from my house showed it had SS watches in stock!!

Not only was the drive to Novi out of my way, but I wound up get stung by two wasps!!

All for a #$&@! Watch!! :mad::mad:

Bummer all the way around on the trip/suicidal pedestrian. On your Watch trade-in, did she give you any reasons? Does it work? Any obvious damage? My wife and I had extremely easy interactions when we traded in our Series 3 watches.

My wife and I both had aluminum Sport versions for a year and they were fine. I admit to being concerned initially because I tend to bump into things, and I'm very active. I had visions of taking a spill on my bike and really destroying the watch. Never happened.

The finish on the SS is going to show small scratches, though if you're careful you could probably eliminate them or make them less obvious with polishing. And SS will dent. I have a 15 year old Rolex GMT Master II on my left wrist that I wear daily and there are some serious dings and dents in the case, along with a lot of scratches. I look at them with a sort of fondness, because every one of them has happened during the ins and outs of daily life.

And I swear, it's an odd illusion - I think the Silver Stainless somehow appears larger for some reason in certain angles. Not disagreeing with you, but I would say that the SS actually looks smaller than it is/smaller than the silver aluminum, possibly because it reflects what's around it. (?). Interesting that different people can see the same object differently.

Yeah, sitting in traffic was a minor inconvenience on my part considering someone was having a much more terrible day than I was.

The gal didn't give any reasons as to why. Watch works fine, in great condition considering it is 23 months old. I wore it in to the store, picked up my new one, asked about the trade-in, got an answer and left. She saw it was working, commented on how it still looked new, and then checked the serial number and said it couldn't be traded in. When I check the serial number on the website it says it's worth a $115 gift card. I'll be back down in that area in a couple of days for work. I might make another stop just to be certain.

That's so odd. If the s/n checks out on the website, it's hard to imagine why the store wouldn't trade it in. I agree, if it's convenient, try again in a few days, and if there's a problem, get them to explain it. You probably know this, but you can keep the band, charging cable and wall wart when you trade it in to Apple.

Thanks to istocknow, a 44mm LTE SS/White Sports Band popped up at an Apple store a few subway stops away In the DC area. Ordered it, picked it up and traded in my old watch, and back at work 90 minutes later. Plus is that set up was incredibly fast and bands fit the same. Negative is that the Infograph faces are useless to me until Apple adds more complications from the standard watch apps, but that’s not for this thread. A different local Apple store had them briefly yesterday, so they are showing up.
