Well, they have my money by my will - I still want the iphone and willing to pay for it - FUUUU is just for gross incompetence and wasting 5 hours

Wasting 5 hours was your choice, not Apple's. It's just a bloody phone. Life will not end if you wait to preorder and don't get the phone on release day.

I think he's earned the right to rant, don't you?

No, I don't think so. He could have just as easily waited until later today or tomorrow or the day after and still received his phone on the same day. We don't need another thread with someone else complaining that they are doing something unnecessary and blaming Apple. The whole reason they are having issues is because everyone has been refreshing their page for the past 5 hours. If everyone just waited the site would be fine and everyone would still get the phone.

You're doing a great Nero impersonation while Rome is burning.

Clearly you have no idea how the ordering flow worked or how its simply not that people refreshing one page.

There are at least 10 click-through to complete order process and the site broke at various points over last 5 hours. If everyone knew that this thing is going to break at step 4, 6 and then 8, no one would have kept tried.

Or...you know, after seeing it failed, you could've waited a few days until traffic died down and completed the preorder in 5 minutes.

Wow! What blind faith (in Apple) you have.

It's not blind at all. It's called experience. Unlike a lot of others around here, I remember what past launches have been like. There's always this stupid rush that overloads the servers, there are always glitches in the system the need to be worked out.

Last year I placed my order a few days after the initial offering....NOT A GLITCH.

Actually at this point I think it's firmly AT&T's fault. Earlier it was Apple (or both), now it's just AT&T. Without fail, it dies every time it's trying to access my AT&T account information.

"Please wait while we access your AT&T account information."

Please post the Memo where Apple said to stand in line to preorder, and we'll take them in alphabetical order . . .

And clearly since you do understand this, you would also understand that if you give them a few hours or a day, this would all be resolved.

There's no imperative reason you needed to be on at 5AM today reserving your iPhone.

Clearly you have no idea how servers work. It doesn't matter what page you are on, a hit to the server is a hit to the server. If you are on step 6 of checking out and 5,000 other people are refreshing their page, you are going to probably have issues getting a connection to the server since the resources are all used up.

you are still not getting it

Exactly...there is no need. No need to jump on and get it right away. Just come back later.

I do get it. Be an early adopter or jump at the first bell of the pre-orders....deal with the bugs. It's that simple.
