Installed Frash on 3G S....

And it NEARLY works!

Go onto something like a flash game, and Flash logo comes up, double click it a few times and it disappears, and then nothing. Unsure why it doesnt work, but it must be trying to use something the iPhone doesn't have i assume.

Just wondering when Comex will release this for iPhone.

Gonna be honest, that didn't make a lick of sense!

Also, 3G S is running OS4.0 JB'ed with Pwnage 4.0.1 - So that COULD be why it doesn't work i guess.

I can confirm this works and works pretty well. It's not 100%, but it's pretty damn close.

there is no Flash for the Iphone google it!!!!!! and somebody that been around since 2008 should be aware of that! I also didn't makr fun and ask you what is Frash

that is incorrect frash is a plugin based off the plugin for android released by comex (spirit jailbreak guy) today for public beta. (only for jailbroken phones)

Works in Atomic browser too, but have to disagree with those who say it works well. Not had much success here to be honest. Been trying some flash games that the kids like to play and not got any to work yet at all. Either they don't load, or there's no way of controlling them via the touch screen. Still, its definitely impressive that it even works at all, so I'm hoping things will improve!

Frash currently works on iPad not the iPhone. Also to my knowledge Comex hasn't released it yet. I haven't seen tweets he released it beta or otherwise, ok I'm done!

I agree, it works pretty well, but when it comes to heavy interaction that's designed for keyboard input, or any kind of dragging, it runs into problems. Virtual keyboard support is planned (and mentioned as an easy addition).

As for dragging issues, the way they deal with it on Android is to allow you to run the Flash content in full screen, taking over touch input directly.

Yes, but as the iPhone and iPad work on the same basic OS, i decided to see if the iPad version RELEASED TODAY would run, and its not far off.

Wondering whether he will optimize the iPad (More likely, as flash is far more needed on iPad) or get the iPhone version out the door.

the software got stolen from comex and is being illegally distributed be engadget, it was meant for developers only...dont support stealing comex's work esp. when it was not ready for public release

Awesome news. This could very well spring to the top reason for jailbreaking. I don't care if it'll drain battery because the iPad battery is so good.

Please dont piss of Comex, he's the ninja that has the ULTAMATE SUPER AMAZING userland jailbreak for 4.0 and iphone 4. If he gets his **** stolen and gets pissed, we may never see that userland jailbreak. Then i would be sad :'-(

You know that on the git repository it even states he doesn't care if binaries are distributed. Just that you should know that it is in a very early stage and not ready for primetime

comex will release himself when it's ready. He choose not to release it yet. there is a reason he hasn't. also respect the guy and wait. you will end up with a much better product in the end. Engadget is really stating to tick lots of people off.

I followed the easy steps posted, used Finder to upload the frash.deb file, restarted the iPad twice, opened Safari and confirmed Flash Player 10.0.22 is installed. It works very well with video playback, haven't used it in interactive Flash environments yet.

Has anyone gotten this to work on the iphone. I get the flash logo but nothin else. I know i should wait for the full release but hey.

Time to come out of the past

Don't you people get it. Flash is the past. Stop living in the virtual '50's, as far as computing goes.
There isn't one programmer who is putting flash on a new website,
and not because of Apple, but because it looks and works like crap!
It is a technology that is outdated, passe, kaput. If you don't think you have problems with flash, then why does your PC freeze for no reason, when your looking at a site. It's because some half-a$$ed programmer, with a Programming for dummies book designed the site and innerface. There is no quality control with flash. There are plenty of opportunities for virus and worms. None of these are the reason that Apple doesn't allow flash. That doesn't change the fact that Adobe could have made flash viable, but figured it wasn't necessary. Now all of you that want to use flash, go and get frash for your iphones and I pads, but don't come crying to me when your frash becomes crash
