I think we should all just report such threads and ask that they be merged into the mega thread. One EVO thread should be enough.
Ooooh, ahhh! Available in 11 out of 50 states. I am ASTOUNDED!Seriously though, very few people will take advantage of the "4G" experience. It's so little, it's a joke.

Sprint is bleeding contract customers and finally has a phone that can turn the tide against the iPhone and what do they do?
Charge an extra $240 to provide 4G service that 90% of us will never get. Now that's a good business decision.
Sorry, that's not a lot. Most of it is Texax. Lol.
The phone looks great but this whole "first 4G device evar" thing is really lame. If sprint had 4G in 75% of the market, then I would be impressed. I am not impressed right now and add on top of that, they want to charge $10 MORE for the "4G" whether or not YOU HAVE IT is pretty stupid.
Don't try to justify it. It's a WASTE of $10 for those that DO NOT get to use the phone on 4G.
I don't get it. Why do you always going in an android thread and bash? It's pretty ironic when you complained about how people created new android thread, and yet you go in here and complained.
Back on topic. Yes, $10 fee is stupid but the $10 is not for 4G only. If you think it's a waste of money that people are going to pay $10 just think how many people are wasting more money such as yourself for having an iphone or any other smartphones on ATT and Verizon. You guys are at least paying $20 plus tax more and for less.

I will be sticking with Verizon.
Here are Sprints contract customer losses for the last 5 quarters(Excludes prepaid, IE Boost). They lost 7 million Customers in the 7 quarters preceeding that.
1.25 million the first quarter of 2009
900K in the second quarter of 2009
800K in the thid quarter of 2009
500K in the fouth quarter of 2009
575K in the first quarter of 2010
In the last 5 quarters, they lost over 4 million customers. Sprint is bleeding customers. They needed this phone to be a hit. Sprint needs more customers. Not more money per customer. They need MORE CUSTOMERS.
At the beginning July, the 4G Iphone will be out. How many newsites do you think will be talking about the EVO? Then Sprint can look at themselves and try to figure out how they managed to bungle up a great phone.
Obviously not everyone have 4G. The $10 is for the phone. However, I agree that the $10 is stupid and deterring some potential customers away from Sprint.
Really?
The phone already costs $199 (from what I hear) w/2 year contract. So you are paying an extra $10 for what again? The phone? Why?
EDIT - now you are making sense![]()
If you buy the Sprint 4G EVO, you have to pay this $10 charge each month. This is specific to the device. It's not related to whether you are using 3G or 4G. It is required if you have the phone.

What you mean now? I pretty much said the same thing on the first post. This is a straight quote from John Taylor himself (Spokeman for Sprint Nextel)

It makes no sense what they are saying. Were going to charge you $10 dollars because we can. That's pretty much what they are saying. First it was suppose to be for the "4G". Since people complained most are not in 4G areas, Sprint changed it to a "better data experience" whether on 3G or 4G. Horse ****. Now they are saying it's "specific to the device". Which translates to, we are charging more because we want to and we don't have a specific reason.
You do realize how asinine that sounds right?
