I think we should all just report such threads and ask that they be merged into the mega thread. One EVO thread should be enough.
The EVO looks like a nice phone, so good for Sprint. But whoever wrote the headline for that article should be fired. Nowhere in the article does the word "Apple" even appear. I was looking for a "click here to read full article" link. I get the hype because its a 4G phone, but when are people going to learn to stop trying to promote every new phone as an iPhone Killer and just focus on the product at hand.

The phone looks great but this whole "first 4G device evar" thing is really lame. If sprint had 4G in 75% of the market, then I would be impressed. I am not impressed right now and add on top of that, they want to charge $10 MORE for the "4G" whether or not YOU HAVE IT is pretty stupid.
Don't try to justify it. It's a WASTE of $10 for those that DO NOT get to use the phone on 4G.

Yeah and they want 10 bucks for it...opps excuse me they want 10 bucks for "premium data" on every EVO even though you ONLY get the added features IF you are on 4G...

Back on topic. Yes, $10 fee is stupid but the $10 is not for 4G only. If you think it's a waste of money that people are going to pay $10 just think how many people are wasting more money such as yourself for having an iphone or any other smartphones on ATT and Verizon. You guys are at least paying $20 plus tax more and for less.
I KNEW that was coming. So what is the "fee" for if it's not ONLY for 4G? I would love to hear this?

I am not bashing Android. I think it's a good competitor. I don't think it's there yet. Nor do I think Sprint will be any better off after the EVO launch. Just like it was with the Pre. A good phone, going to the WRONG carrier.

Whos bashing now. We pay extra so we can have a phone we can use without being in these select cities, which as Absolutc stated are mostly in Texas.

actually the evo is supposed to have 7 hours talk time. its a 1500mah battery. my guess is the battery life will be comparable to the htc incredible which in my experience is still better than the iphone. although when streaming hq video and things like that i would expect it to drain a bit faster.
also i was told if your not in 4g coverage to manually turn off 4g so its not constantly looking for it. not a big deal

It makes no sense what they are saying. Were going to charge you $10 dollars because we can. That's pretty much what they are saying. First it was suppose to be for the "4G". Since people complained most are not in 4G areas, Sprint changed it to a "better data experience" whether on 3G or 4G. Horse ****. Now they are saying it's "specific to the device". Which translates to, we are charging more because we want to and we don't have a specific reason.

No, they have always said it was for the "premium data" experience on the EVO... Except they are so detarded because the " premium data " experience is only in 11 detarded states..So if you are on 3G, you can't use any of the GREAT detarded features the evo has like HD youtube etc....cause it doesn't work on 3G..... I know cause I emailed the detarded CEO of Sprint.
