When is the last time you updated it? I just updated mine yesterday, and its the exact same app that I have on the iPhone.

I agree, as a Mac owner, the integration with the iPhone is very nice.

Android Facebook is not on par with iphones... The notifications are jacked up and the is no built in chat. Also for some items it still kicks you out to the mobile site... annoying..

Ummm, who needs their phone to sync with itunes? How lazy are you? I plug my Evo into my Mac, mount it, open my music folder on my Evo and drag songs from my itunes and drop em right in, done. How difficult is that? Also have doubletwist if I want to be lazy. Having my phone sync with all my Google contacts, calendars etc..is far more important since I use iGoogle for everything. How people can still cry about the battery amazes me. I guess iPhone users arent used to having the freedom to buy larger capacity batteries for their phones, its quite simple. Every time I show one of my iPhone friends all the stuff my Evo can do, I feel like some guy from a big city showing some caveman modern technology LOL All of them want one now too :)

i wish android had a better email management. not everyone uses gmail...

yes i know you can use other apps but come on seriously...their over email mangement sucks hard...

Use K-9 if you want a better non gmail app.

...and so does Yahoo, Hotmail or whatever other email you are using. Gmail is the best.

We get it you love Evo....

It still doesn't compare to the iPhone's

That's your opinion. However, I use Yahoo and Gmail. It's much easier to use on the iPhone OS than Android. However, if I did use Gmail exclusively, it works best on Android.

Please keep in mind, I am just stating MY REASONS why I don't use Android.

Personally myself, I like my music organized. All of my songs are labeled correctly along with album artwork. The only thing Android really has is the smooth syncing with contacts/calendar through gmail. I will give it that.

Battery though? I bet you 90% of the people, if not higher, hardly ever remove their batteries. Funny how you state you'll just buy another battery. Do you carry it with you? lol jk

The only thing I'm ridiculously curious about is that camera.

I took over 300 photos with my iphone. and probably 5 hours accumulated. Having video at 30 fps is a BILLION TIMES better than 24fps.

Apple has proven that their vga 30fps was the best for any cellphone period. If this camera system is really that good and those pictures came out like that and that video was all made on that iphone.

WOW!

To give you an idea, additional megapixel without INCREASING the sensor size increases added noise..this is just natural. The EVO 4G is as grainy as it gets. That camera is not really that good. The only thing is has over my iphone 3GS is resolution, but it brings it WAY more noise. I have been doing side my side shots for the past 3 days. The video, is even more grainier and doesn't handle lighting transitions very well.

I feel like the iphone will excel 10x more. Also, the autofocus on EVO 4G is terrible.

i have spend ALOT of time just examining both cameras and I can't believe its not talk about more. But then again its a phone camera.

In terms of display, i have to see this display. I'm DYING to see it. but i'm so absorbed in my 4.3 inch screen that. I don't want to let it go. As far as I can tell:

iphone OS excels in everything except:

background apps (android i like better)
Push Notification (OMG yes)
widgets (i love putting miss misa campo on my wall)
Navigation
youtube HD
Customization, everything on the phone has a setting and you can control it.

That's it. it's not that it's bad but:

Apple OS is better suited for multitouch. Pitch and zoom actually work right.
The web browsing (although limited) is smooth and more natural.
The keyboard is a billion times better because it has better autocorrection. i could be fine with the android keyboard it they had apple's autocorrect system.
Their phone app is better IMO (i really don't care if i can see my FB contacts)
Apps are better but I pretty impressed with the variety android offers, they just aren't as polish sometimes.

That's all i have thus far and even then.........that 4.3 inch screen is just a joy!!! just like looking at your ipad (if you have one)

I'm on the fence too, but not necessarily for the iPhone 4. I'm thinking about taking the Evo back and sticking with my iPhone 3G, and waiting to see what new Android phones come out later this year. I was really hoping that after all of this time Apple would introduce some features to bring the iPhone up to par with Android. I was very disappointed they didn't at least add a notification light to the new iPhone, and it is pitiful to not have a notification system without jailbreaking. Also, I really don't think I want to invest another two years into AT&T.

Why not go with the Incredible then? It sounds like you'd prefer the smaller size and the battery should be better.

I was actually thinking about that this afternoon. I wasn't impressed with the build quality when I looked at it last month, but I may go back and give it another look.

I'd love the live wallpaper on my iPhone <_< Also the customization...without having to jailbreak. But oh well.

I'm in a 4G market for the first time (Baltimore) and decided to give the 4G on my evo a try... I'm getting download speeds around 6 Mbps down and .97 up. I'm using the hotspot feature (for free I might add) to run two devices and it's almost like I'm using my home wifi.

Really impressed.

Well to be honest, the iphone battery isnt that great to begin with and besides, what does it have to run? Pretty much nothing. There are no live or interactive wallpapers, no true multitasking, no widgets that update every 10-15 minutes with weather, sports scores, twitter/facebook updates, no advanced apps like Google maps with navigation and street view....just a bunch of buttons that open one program at a time. When you have a TRUE smartphone that does many things at once, it puts a strain on a battery and you will want a bigger one that lasts longer. So yes, many people with powerful devices/phones buy extended life batteries :)

I am curious what kind of multitasking that Android does that the iOS 4 does not offer. I tried to think of what the difference is, but I am not familiar with how Android handles multitasking.

EDIT: Want to point out I'm not trying to be sarcastic; I honestly do not know what the limitations are with iOS 4's implementation compared to Android.

Well, for starters, I can multitask ANY program or app I wish, not just the ones Steve Jobs tells me I can :) Huge difference right there alone. Apple will designate the programs that will be allowed to multitask and only those programs. On my Evo, I can be streaming live radio like Pandora while having all my IMs running as well as surfing the net and downloading apps from the market and even have Google navigation running and giving me voice guided directions while driving. Thats multitasking :)

You can do all that with iOS. They're all part of the 'pilliars' of iOS multitasking. Given apps need to be updated, but so what? That's transparent to the end user.

No you wont. Its pause state, resume and that is not true multitasking. Meaning, if you are downloading an app and back out of it to do something else, it will pause until you come back to it.

Huh? Downloading an app? Do you mean downloading something in an app? Either way they can continue (downloading apps always has, iOS 4 allows task completion) in iOS 4.

Can you post a concrete example so I can understand better. As I understand it, everything you've posted is doable with iOS 4.

I've had MANY phones...from the very first HTC 8525 to HTC Touch Pro 2 to iPhone 3GS. The iPhone has one the best battery out there.

I know it's the NOT EXACTLY the same, however, it's close and it'll be the same with iOS 4. I've had multitask due to Backgrounder. I bet you I can stream pandora, search the web, chat, and etc whatever and the iPhone wouldn't even touch 75% before your battery dies.

Did you know that the HTC EVO 4G has the EXACT same battery as the HTC Touch Pro 2/Touch Diamond 2/Incredible/etc? :p

I hope you realized its up the developer to chose the state of the background. If you saw the Keynote, Steve showed the iPhone running different apps and had Safari loading in the background. He loaded Safari up and went to another app and went back to Safari just to show that it loaded in the BACKGROUND ;)

Example would be games, of course the developer would have it pause instead of continuing.

I will believe the iPhone can do everything I just mentioned until I see it. Besides, even if it does, phones have had the ability to do this for many years. My lame LG phone could multitask back in 2005 LOL. Will just mean the iPhone finally caught up to the rest of us :) Still want to see it before I believe though and it will only be certain apps which is pretty much useless.

yep, same as the Hero too. I am using my 1800mah from my old Hero as my main battery :)

So, you made a big deal about it not multitasking, and then when we point out that it can do everything Android can, while still preserving battery, you try and say that it "finally caught up."

Also, how is it useless? Any app that needs to multitask will be updated to do so, and as I understand it iOS 4 saves states for apps that don't implement it so it's like pausing an app. However, I may be wrong about that last part.
