This not true. There is no "Magic" iPhone SIM. This rumor comes up with every iPhone since the orignial iPhone need to be paired with the SIM during iTunes activation.

If you have an active AT&T SIM from the last 24-36 months it will work just fine. Only the really old "AT&T" Blue SIMs are not going to work. So the Cingular Fireball and the 3G logo AT&T SIMs all work just fine.

Okay this for all the people who ordered through premier:
I just got off the phone with ATT and I was told this:
"Since you bought your phone before the sellout which was this last sunday you will get you Iphone. Iphone will shipped between June 19th and 21st and the expected delivery date is between 7 to 10 days. And even if I cancel my preorder I will not get one because all the 3GSs are gone. Have I answered all you questions sir ? "

Damn you ATT !!!!!

Well.. this is at odds with all of the information that I've seen and what I've been told by ATT reps. But go ahead and take a chance ;)
 
i hope that since i ordered on the 8th and my order still says "Prepared for Shipment", i am part of the fabled shipment of iPhones that are already in the US...i better get it soon...the ones who ordered on the 8th deserve theirs before anyone else.
 
Wells folks, I am going to call it a night. I ordered on the 11th for home delivery from AT&T and my order is still "In Progress" and I have no tracking number.

Here's to hoping I wake up to better news...even if it says Friday.

A couple of hours ago my delivery date was removed and now its back.

Mine nows says, "Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 06/17/2009."

Not holding my breathe of the delivery date... only time will tell ...

I wish this was true, but here are the facts. If they are going to Loiusville, which most if not all are, so they can be routed to where they will end up, then they can not be in the air. According to Flight Aware, there is no plane that is only 2 hours out of all that are airborn, the closest is + 4 hours. So, our Iphones has left the building, but are still sitting on a tarmac in Alaska.

Well if it shows:

Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 18/06/2009, then it is not on UPS 081 but on UPS 063 and has to go to the UPS Hub and based on the UPS Zones, you will have to add an additional day to get to the west coast.

Getting to Florida early enough for a wed. delivery seems unlikely at this point. But I have no clue what I am talking about.
 
Anyone else here still wondering why they only increased the camera by 1MP when most phone have 5-8MP? That's really not a big jump for a phone thats been on the market for 24 months.
 
a big question for you guys, i have the 3G, and am using my dads eligible upgrade pricing. do i just activate phone with his number then put my own sim in the phone?

Megapixels don't increase camera quality. Do you really need 5 megapixels?

MP mean ****. My 5mp DSLR will pwn a 15 MP p&s any day of the week.
