I have been an AT&T customer for years. I ordered my 32G iPhone 3G S via Apple's website and hope to get it by Friday <<fingers crossed>>. This is my 1st iPhone.

How will I make the switch from my current Samsung to my new iPhone. Is it as easy as moving the SIM card? I have not seen a SIM card slot and I have heard it is hard to get inside the iPhone. Will I NEED to take it in to an AT&T store to make the switch?

How about moving my Contacts?

BTW, I have not used iTunes and have heard I will need to download it to be able to use my iPhone. Is this true?

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Any possibility that they split the shipments to go to Ontario CA AND Kentucky?

You can use your existing AT&T SIM or use the new SIM that will be pre-installed in your new iPhone.

Give it a try, it has lots of great iPhone information.

You will need iTunes 8.2 or later to activate your iPhone if you are receiving a home delivery. Again the link above is ot the "How To" site that answers all of your questions.

If you have all of your contacts on your current SIM, you can Import them into your iPhone address book, again see the "How To" site for the specific details.

Correct the first wave of Direct Fulfillment (DF) orders place via an AT&T retail store will be received in the DFW AT&T Hub late afternoon on Thursday and they will be processed and shipped to each retail store in groups.

The first groups are scheduled to arrive by Friday, June 19. Currently, I don't understand how they will meet the 7 AM store open commitment but stay tuned as the details develop.

same here !! I am on the phone with ATT for the 5th time ..and this girl keeps putting me on hold ???? she is saying that she is researching my account lol

You CANNOT use a SIM out of your old phone. They will not work in the IPhone. The phone will come with a SIM installed and you just go through the ITunes activation process.

Current status: just got a departure scan from AK, plus "Scheduled Delivery" is back!

Got my departure scan from Alaska too, and my delivery date is back up for the 18th... great, just booked a gig for Thursday too!

Oh well... btw, this is my first post on the forum... apparently I thought this was important enough :p

I ordered mine for home delivery though.... I am in KC, MO so if it does indeed ship from Fort Worth, I should get it the next day.... theoretically
 
Woohoo..updated scan, departed from AK. I say this looks like they are clearing customs elsewhere!

My UPS tracking information just updated saying it departed Anchorage, AK at 6:52PM. Does this mean they are not on UPS63? Another possible flight is UPS81.
 
What's the consensus, have most people received tracking numbers? I ordered through Apple on June 9th and have not received anything. Having it delivered to NYC. Should I start worrying?

I've got delivery back to the 17th again as well. We'll just see what happens tomorrow morning wont we? I'm hoping its tomorrow but in the long run Friday isn't so far away.
 
thank goodness it's left the state of palin.. i hope my iphone didn't offend her while it was there
 
I really think UPS is going to hold it at their local distribution centers until the 19th when they'll dispatch them on their trucks. I don't think people should get their hopes up for deliveries on the 17th and 18th...
