AT&T charged my card and shipped my phone today! Hopefully it comes early but I know I'll be getting it by the 19th at the latest!
 
Why doesn't Apple stagger the release of the new iPhoneOS 3.0 before/after the release of the iPhone 3GS hardware.

Isn't this situation ------ where they released the new firmware for older phones on the same day that new models were being activated --- exactly what led to the major server crash last year?

umm they are... iPhone 3.0 OS will be out wednesday where iPhone 3Gs will be out friday
 
I don't think my card has been charged yet, but I used my credit card instead of my debit card so I can't look at pending transactions unfortunately.

it isn't coming early. The launch is Friday. But you will get it the 19th. That's exactly what it said when you ordered, no? Why are you happier now, knowing that you will get it when you thought you would all along?

Hmmm, hopefully my order status will change from In Progress to Shipped sometime today (although I do have a tracking #). And then maybe the charge will go back on there. Who knows, just give me my phone on Friday and I'll be happy! 🙄

nope, i did the online chat thing aswell after receiving an email that said,

"Dear ME XXXXXXX,

Thank you for choosing AT&T. Unfortunately, we need some additional information about your phone number transfer before we can complete your order. Please click on the following link to proceed with your number transfer: https://www.wireless.att.com/lnp/

We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to serving you. If we don't hear from you within 30 days, your order will be canceled.

The basically automated chat responses said everything was in order and my phone would now ship out and arrive within the standard 5 business days or 2 if I used express shipping.

I had gone to the link to check my port status as I am coming from Verizon, and everytime I checked it was always said Confirmed.
 
Are all of the people that ordered through ATT Premier getting screwed and not getting our orders until after the 19th? My order says backordered and I ordered on the 10th.

I didn't say I am happier now but I figured AT&T would find a way to screw up my order. AT&T seems to always mess up my account. Knock on wood they got this one right. Now I hope I don't get any dead pixels in the middle ofthe screen ha!
 
For those of you who ordered in the ATT store, how are you checking the tracking status, were they supposed to send you an email with this info? I didn't recieve an email, so now I'm wondering if they put my email in the system correctly.

Hopefully mine hits even "in progress" soon. Still on not yet shipped.

You're locked in a 2-year contract...if you want a different phone, I would DEFINITELY order a new one, even if it does come a day or two late, but the Apple website is till saying "Delivered by the 19th." It's a device that you'll be using daily for a year or two, you should have the one you want/need.
 
AT&T Order

I ordered 3 phones on the 9th. 16GB Black, 32GB Black and 32GB White

2 says in progress and the White one has a tracking number. Not sure if its fedex or ups here it is

WTH, if that's true you should be getting one by wendsday for sure. I'm no parcel expert but I did work in a UPS plant for about a year. If you are in NYC and that thing shipped on the 12th you should definitely be seeing that thing before the 19th. Unless all this shipping stuff that we are seeing is just a preliminary shipping procedure where they then just hold the thing at a closer outlet and wait for 1.5 days before they ship again. I don't know. What I do know is that I be going insane if I start to see a bunch of threads titled "got mine!" before the 19th and I haven't "got mine" yet.

Did you read the OP? It says shipping from China.
