U know u can port ur # from home on iTunes. thats what im doing..

It was explained to me that the shipping fee was refunded however the shipment type is still the same. I guess that means it could still go out as late as tomorrow?

i sure hope so. the man i spoke to yesterday said this was what was delaying my order..you never know..since we signed up for overnight shipping initially [even though got refunded for them] they might still be putting that into consideration for our order and ours will be shipped overnight tomorrow..man, i'm really hoping that's the case..i've also been on hold to speak to a rep from apple for 20 mins now..

Has anyone who ordered on the 8th, but whose phone has yet to ship tried calling apple to see it the can switch from home delivery to pick up at an apple store? I'm now fully convinced mine is not going to be getting here by friday and am now willing to try anything. Perhaps, at the store they could take one from the stack available to the public and mark it as reserved. Any thoughts before I give them a call?
 
Just checked on AT&T. I hope I can arrive at 7am Friday to pick it up!!

I don't want to get too excited, but I am going to call AT&T soon to see if my phone will be in-store Friday.

Well you should check your AT&T account. My contract was updated and my new contract date is 06/12/2011. My iPhone 3G S is till being held hostage at the Worldport Hub!! Free the iPhones.:D

Once you account is updated you will not qualify for the reduced pricing so double check your account...

Looks like little ol' insignificant Apple put a hold on all the early orders. Guess I was right after all.

Don't fret, you'll still get your phone on the 19th.
 
Possibly the most frustrating bit in all of this if the phone doesn't get here until next week is the separate email the Apple Store sent me to specifically assure me that the phone would be in my hands on the 19th.

Of course it's not June 19th yet, so no need for a call to arms...yet.
 
alright everyone..just got off the phone with apple. for users i've been talking back and forth with:

so to my understanding, most of you are in my situation where we ordered the 8th and our status is still "prepared for shipment" and initially we chose overnight shipment for the extra charge and then were refunded and that's what caused the "delay"

the lady i spoke to said my order is still under "overnight delivery" as delivery option and that it's just been refunded but delivery option remains the same. and she said since that's the case, the reason why it probably hasn't shipped is because it's overnight and release is 19th and overnight is not today. she said i should see a change in order status later today. i asked if i was still going to get it the 19th and she said "yes".

i guess we'll see. hope this clears things up..i'm still in doubts though

that's what I'll lead with when I do my complaining.
 
I still have some faith...but when I'm told early on that I will DEFINITELY get my phone on the 19th, and then today someone tells me they're "trying their best," it makes me a little uneasy. If I don't get my phone on the 19th, I'll raise hell with Apple.
 
the UPS tracker says the 18th even though my apple confirmation says the 23rd...i trust UPS more cause they're the ones shipping the phones. I am very confident we will have them by the 19th.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered on the 10th and still shows preparing for shipment. What side of Indy are you on? I'm in a west suburb.
 
Ok. So I called UPS and they told me that they had been experiencing problems with the site and that it kept telling them to hold the package. They told me that it's going to be here tomorrow at 10:30 regardless of all the holds.
 
I still have faith, I'm just impatient is all :)

And to the earlier post about this being mostly people who selected "overnight" shipping... I didn't, I went with the normal default (which was still guaranteed for the 19th)
 
here's what i got so far...it seems that my delivery date disappeared...
