Gah... I don't know what the hell to think now. When my UPS tracking went from "Delivery on June 18" to "Receiver requested hold" I pretty much wrote off all chances of an early delivery, which REALLY sucks for me because we're leaving early Friday morning for a 1 week trip (my office will sign for it and hold it for me). Now some of you are calling UPS and they are saying it will arrive early anyway? WTF?

Well I guess I will just have to wait and see, won't I? Apple loves to keep these things shrouded in mystery.

Check your tracking number with UPS it should show the 19th as the delivery date mine said the same thing and UPS shows the 19th as the delivery date.
No, I have no date... and I called UPS and they said scheduled delivery is the 22nd

In Dallas!

Mine was ordered in ATT Store 6/9 at 12:00, and UPS tracking now says in Dallas, TX en route to my city (in Texas).

:apple:  :apple:

Wow...that is strange i got that same email that said June 23rd for delivery but when i check my ups tracking info it says june 19th and i only ordered it Saturday night.

Pretty much, everyone who is worried about getting the phone on Friday will know tomorrow. If it has not shipped by then you are probably not getting it on the 19th.

*Called UPS*

"Hi, I'm leaving on a Vacation tomorrow night, so I won't be here on the 19th to receive the package"

"Well, that's fine, we'll put a hold until Monday if you want"

"NOOO ,JUST KIDDING, I'LL BE HERE ON THE 19TH...That's fine"

Im thinking at this point since I'm still stuck in prepared for shipment that I will not be getting my shiny new 3G S on friday...oh well.

I didn't check to see if someone else posted this. I haven't had a chance to read the previous 50 pages of posts. But not to get people's hopes down, but I ordered my iphone from at&t online on June 9 at 10am PST to be shipped directly to my house. I just spoke with the rep and they said that my order will not ship until the 19th; so that means a Mon delivery. Sorry guys!

and yes, you guys who ordered through apple made the smart choice.

dunno about you guys, but mine has been sitting in texas since yesterday.

Oh no....I ordered that day :(. Oh well. It is what it is. At least it's not backordered.

I ordered mine through on premier phone line on the 10th. Unfortunately, the ATT reps are saying its still on backorder even though I ordered before the 13th. Anyone else getting this same response?

I'm on a family plan. I ordered mine from apple...

Oh, I didn't know about that. My mistake.

Exactly. The best Apple could do for me was "reserve" on in the store. No thanks.

Really? Why is that? I have a family plan and had no trouble ordering from Apple.

Sorry but you could have just purchased a new single line from Apple and then merged it into your existing FamilyTalk. It might have cost you an extra $5 due to the pro-rated rate plans.

Dave

I was adding a new line and I couldn't do it through Apple.

sorry i had to be more specific... some people who were opening up NEW family plans with more than one new iphone (plus one non-iphone line) had to order directly from the at&t store..

A Thought…

At this point I think most of us are willing to admit there is at least a possibility some of us may not receive our orders on Friday as promised (presumably many of us who ordered on the day of the keynote). This made me think. Apple is a company which is incredibly astute when it comes to designing products and predicting what new technology will be most popular with the public. However, they seem to be horrible at predicting their actually popularity and gauging the response their products will receive. Take, for example, the numerous times their servers have been overloaded with purchases, iPhone updates and the like.

Which brings me to my last point. Apple is like the fat girl who grows up to be really hot, but is always haunted by the time she was fat so is really nice and fun to hang out with. However, this whole experience causes her to constantly doubt her self-worth and inevitably leads the girl to date some ungrateful prick who is always taking advantage of her (in walks AT&T).

Not true, I probably wont see mine till at least monday too. I ordered through Apple on the night of the 8th and it still says prepared for shipment and hasnt moved about 24 hrs. It still says ship: for delivery on the 19th. I just dont know if i believe that anymore.

I ordered from ATT for in-store pick-up and it seems I will be getting it the 19th. The scheduled delivery is the 18th, and right now it seems to be at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport.
