Don't listen to that. Check the UPS tracker, that's what matters.

Does your UPS tracker state the delivery date? Mine doesn't. I also got the delivers on the 23rd e-mail. I called UPS, and they said that it is impossible that I will receive the shipment on the 19th. And
they said that there wasn't anything on the shipping information that stated
delivery on the 19th...

This thread tells me 2 things:

1) Apple is probably sorry they did this "pre-order" thing.
2) Whatever money UPS made from all these shipments probably isn't worth all the phone calls asking when people will get their phones.

Ughh...I finally got my shipping notice very early this morning - but my e-mail from Apple says delivery by the 23rd?! WTF!?!?!

SERIOUSLY - WTF?!?

The 23rd?! Are you kidding me!?

I also ordered on 13th and I got shipping details today.....it says delivery by 23rd

First I placed 32Gb White on Att on 10th, then I called them to chng color to BLCK and CSR said yes now you will receive Black one but when I tried to chck order status it just said ur order is cancelled :( . How can she do that  then I placed new order on Apple...otherwise I would have received my :apple:iPhone on 19th

This post is solely for venting purposes, not as a personal attack on anyone in this forum, but I'm more than disturbed that after I ordered my iPhone 3G S the day AFTER it was announced, i.e. 9th, around 5:00 PM, I had still NOT received a shipping notification.

So, TWO days before product launch, when I had placed the order ONE darn day after product announcement, AT&T would have the nerve to not only withdraw the funds for the phone from my bank account, but not deliver on time. After all, there were PLENTY of folks that pre-ordered many more days after product announcement and have ALREADY received tracking numbers.

I hate to say it, because I actually receive good service from AT&T, but it has become clear that the AT&T-Apple relationship is strained, not only from Phil Schiller's comments/jabs during the keynote, but also from all the other posts on MacRumors.

I am actually going to camp out at my nearest Apple store EARLY to get my hands on one and not have to wait days after AT&T ships my phone. Shame on you AT&T!

I placed my order literally moments after the Keynote completed (I was refreshing the store pages waiting for the option to appear).

Based on everything I've been seeing it sounds like those of us who were early adopters AND opted for Overnight shipping will have it coming from some location in the US. Because of this I'm going to reserve all my assumptions until tomorrow.

Did you order yours "Overnight" ?

US PREMIERE people are getting screwed

Seriously, no funds withdrawn, no one knows anything, all I hear is preparing for shipping on the voice prompt, CS rep says shipping friday, online says back ordered.

WTF

ordered 3 AM EST Sunday night, still says "prepp'd for shipment" should i be worried?

Right there with you.
Maybe.... Talked to Apple Rep 5 minutes ago. (Of Course not the most reliable, but nonetheless) She told me that mine would in fact ship in a couple minutes.
She also said that the UPS tracking sheet would tell me a delivery date of the 20th or 22nd. After she realized this might upset me, she said that those are only estimates and that they are doing what they can to ensure a 19th delivery for everyone.

Now I'm in So Cal so it might in fact get here friday for me. (Hopeful) Might be different for other areas.

Patience is key, I once ordered an iPod (engraved) on a tuesday morning, and received it wednesday afternoon, all the way from China. (standard shipping)

But we'll see!!!!!! There is still hope

Wait, you canceled your order because you didn't receive your phone on time even though it's only Wednesday and it's very likely you would've received your phone on time?

meh, only the CSR people absorb the impact. the higher-ups don't give a crap, unless it cut into the bottom line.

Actually it'll go to Shanghai or Hong Kong before coming to the U.S.

It's not in flight yet. There will be a Departure Scan before the flight takes off and an Arrival Scan once it lands at it's next stop.

Come one Apple! Ship it today! There's still hope!

This will not make those who thought they'd still be getting their iPhones early very happy.

I think everyone figured that out this morning when we all checked our status updates. Really sucks.

Oh well, friday it is then!

Per Apple's request, UPS will be delivering iPhones starting Friday, 06/19. Tracking information will be updated. #iphone
9 minutes ago from web

Yeah, not too thrilled with their wording: STARTING Friday....
Hope that doesn't mean continuing next week.

UPS international tracking is so getting hammered with phone calls right now. :D. I just spoke with one of their cust svc reps. All I told her was that I needed some assistance because I was seeing a weird status message on the online tracking page. Without hesitating she asked me if it was an Apple shipment from China. Classic. :D

Yeah, but some on here were told today that their phones would still be arriving early on the 18th instead of the 17th. UPS' tweet seems to indicate they will be holding everything until the 19th. Maybe not! Hopefully those who got their hopes up for an early delivery will still get it!
