Update: Just called ATT and he said the orders were being placed as backorders until the item arrives. Also said the phones were shipping from Fort Worth, TX on Thursday afternoon overnight express, said people may get them on Friday, but acted like a lot of people's wouldn't come until Saturday.....

Sweet! That means we'll get our phones when it's Friday in China (ie. Thursday in the US?)
I ordered from apple.com on June 9th (evening) and currently mine says 'Prepared for Shipment'. I did not pay for any expedited shipping, so still sitting on 'standard shipping'. I just checked my online bank statement and do not see a charge from apple yet. (they did a pre-auth on the 9th but that went away as I'm guess they don't auth/capture until the product ships?)
Okay People - Everyone take a deep breath (or two). They are shipping tons of phones out of China and I'm sure the orders are changing by the minute and systems might not be updated real-time. To save yourself some stress, wait till you get a tracking number, and then use UPS / Fedex tracking to see where your phone is. Keep in mind that just because Apple / ATT site says "shipped" it does not mean UPS/Fedex have picked it up and have it in their system. All "shipped" means is that it is on a dock somewhere and Apple is "finished" their process. The carrier will show up, scan it, and then it will be in their system. Then, you will get more accurate info on delivery dates from the carrier. I would be willing to bet that phones will be received on Friday with the small exception for carrier mishaps. I would also bet that both Apple and ATT have large quantities coming to their US warehouses so they can ship any last minute orders overnight from the US. This might also explain the ATT Premier orders. They could all ship from the US on Wednesday or Thursday. We already know Apple / ATT are getting bulk shipments for their stores.
The backorder status changes constantly, so I don't see how the rep figures its until the item arrives. Mine has been backordered and non-backordered 3 times today so far. As someone else says, their order status thing changes throughout the day for everything (until its shipped).
I believe so? ATT stores are supposed to have the iPhones instock on wednesday at the earliest, thursday at the latest
Oh? I'm just down the street 20 miles or so in Addison. Maybe mine will get here early!!
NOW a good question is... you know how before the launch when they close they have the sign " NO IPHONES KEPT ON SITE" then they get there the next morning and start selling iphones 2 min later!
White one shipped, Black one hasn't.
Ordered 1 white 32gb, 1 black 32gb from the Apple Store on the morning of the 9th, both as upgrades from original iPhones. My wife's white one has a tracking number, shipped from Shenzen China. My black one is still listed as "prepared for shipping."
I assume they will be airdropped over my house by the iStork and will float to my front porch on little parachutes.

Sorry if this has been posted already, but looks like everyone will receive their pre-orders on time.
I ordered mine on the 12th from AT&T Premiere. The rep said that it won't leave the premiere store until the 19th (because they have different stock) and I would not get it until the next monday or tuesday. What he said sounds stupid, but he could be right
