Ordered mine this morning (round 8am est) and it has changed to a status of shipped as of 10:36pm this evening. I believe that if you had ordered last week, chances are they will overnight it to you so you receive it Friday from one of their many local shipping facilities.

Shipping from China will likely take until Friday hence why a lot of more recent orders are seeing changes.

No worries...I'm sure everyone will get their phones on time, Apple tends to know what they're doing.

Did you order via Apple's pre-order?

(FYI to others: As far as I know, pre-orders for AT&T made on/before the 13th* are on-time for Friday. For Apple, anyone can continue to order up until the 17th and they will arrive on Friday.)

Same. Ordered mine on the 9th... shipped on the 12th. In my case, I'm cool with the dude in the store and the manager is even cooler with me, so hopefully he can sneak it out for me.
 
This is so funny, everyone is freaking out!

Apple sent me a new macbook pro through applecare when my powerbook died. They overnighted it from Shanghai. So it went from Shanghai, to Anchorage, to Memphis, to Minneapolis in less than 24 hours.

My point being: don't worry you'll get your iphone, it's still only monday!
 
i wish mine would change the status to shipped already that would give me a great piece of mine .

No. Since you already placed one iPhone order, your upgrade has been placed on hold at AT&T. Bottom line, if it doesn't arrive (which it will) and you go to Apple Store --- the computer will think you've already used your upgrade.

I can't give you a "for sure" answer-- but I really don't see why not. I would definitely give them a call (heck, call their after hours line!) and cancel. It hasn't shipped so I don't know why they wouldn't do it. Go for it.

I'm a new customer. How would it know I'm a customer though if I haven't officially signed a contract? It only did credit checks so I should be okay? IF it was the case that I wouldn't be getting it.

For Apple, would I need to place the order ON the 17th, or before? I'm not sure if the hold on my account could be removed quick enough...
 
bought 2 iPhone 3gS and both are shipped :) question, does anyone know if the phone is pre-ordered through at&t store, do i have to go at store opening and get in line or i can go whenever?

I'm also from Connecticut and I'm in the same boat, but ordered a black 32gb. I'm not too worried about it though. I'm sure it will be at my house on Friday

Sounds weird, I know. But my wife's old phone was just about dead and I didn't think it would last long enough for the new one to be shipped, so I went into the store to place the order for my iPhone and get her new, non-iPhone right away.
 
Shipping Status Has Changed

I pre-ordered my iPhone at AT&T on the 11th and as of this morning I had a tracking number but the Status still read "In Progress" - like others have posted earlier. Just checked now, and the Status of my order now says "Shipped"! However, the tracking number is still not live.

I'm not 100% on this, but I think you can go in whenever. I mean, it's your phone, you've paid for it. They can't sell it to anyone else, right?

I was told by several Apple reps that orders could be placed up until a certain time on the 17th... I think it was 2:00 PM? Double check with them.
I'm sure you could have it cancelled today if not tomorrow for sure.

AT&T Ship-to Store -- Only Freight?

Did anyone else who ordered in the store go from in progress to shipped, but the order is only showing the freight line item?

yesterday 2 line items -- 1 for freight and one for the phone. Today -- only the freight line item, but it shows the freight shipped?

Also don't see my debit card charged, did anyone else get recharged after the original hold cleared?
