Ha ha, too funny. People are really freakin out. I ordered mine from AT&T the day after the 3Gs was announced & mine went from IN PROGRESS to SHIPPED only today. It's a safe bet that if you pre-ordered before they supposedly "ran out" of pre-sale, then you should be fine. You gotta believe that they wouldn't ship individual phones as they were ordered, "duh" & figured they would wait until they could ship in bulk.

I ordered at an AT&T store on the 12th. Earlier today, order status showed as in-process and listed two lines: freight and the iphone itself. As soon as the tracking number showed up, the freight line disappeared. But my c/c still has not been charged and as of just a few seconds ago, tracking info still isn't available on UPS' site yet.
ahh ic.. i think youre right, the at&t repp told me that the iphones i preordered will be my phone and it wont come out of their inventory..
I ordered 2 iphones, both had two line items on the day i ordered and now one says the iphone description and the other order says FREIGHT only instead of the iphone description? i hope nothing goes bad on delivery date
my card was also charged already..Mine is a Black 32gb and is marked Shipped

Did you order through AT&T? I ordered from AT&T on Sunday (the 14th). I wonder if I'll get mine by Friday.
Are you using Firefox? It never seems to show up for me when I use it on the order status page.
Try refreshing several times, or a different browser. Works fine for me in Safari
it started showing up for me again now , but still no tracking number . just my bad luck !

I think among the hysteria here it's worth bringing up the theory again that some early orders don't have tracking numbers becaue the units were already in the US and will ship later in the week. More recent orders may be coming from stocks overseas therefore they already are in transit.

With AT&T....I ordered Apple, you can preorder up to the 17th and get it by the 19th. And like I said before, early orders are probably shipping locally and therefore havent gotten numbers yet...whereas more recent ones will ship from China to offset travel time.
Everyone needs to chill if you ordered from Apple, you will get the phone...and even though AT&T is sketchy I'm sure if you ordered before last Saturday, you'll be fine.

Did it through Apples site, with direct shipping, so we'll see if it makes it here on time.
Hopefully those little chinese people aren't getting beat too hard, I'd hope it comes put together right, and dont have to go through a couple swaps like on the original 3g.

my status moved to shipped. i have a tracking number too... but when i tried to see satus on the ups site, it didnt work.
