I dont think the process is FUBAR at all. Different parts of the country are being shipped via different methods to what makes the most logical A->B routing procedure. For example, Apple sends most of its PA/NJ stuff out of Jonestown, PA which is FedEx. I don't think FedEx orders have been shipped yet because they are much faster than a freight UPS order.

At any rate, he said that although mine has not yet shipped, it will ship from "closer" and be in my hands on Friday.

same situation, I just want it to say something.
 
kinda depressing seeing all these people with tracking numbers and getting their phones early. i ordered on the 9th from att's regular store to be delivered to my home. still no tracking or anything... just says "in progress"

Called the bank, and they stated that the amount for the purchase was placed on hold, and expired a day later. The bank also stated that the amount has not re-appeared on my account. Point being that the purchase amount will pop up soon, whether it is today or tomorrow. I hope this helps everyone out that made the purchase through the apple store and is in the same boat. I wouldn't want anyone to feel the effects of an overdraft charge/hassle of correcting one's check book.

Go to the :apple: store & check your order status -- u'll c the link. u have 2 print it out & tape it 2 your door. Just in case anyone wants to drive around, looks for these stupid papers hanging on the door & get a free phone while u r not home. nice.

Same shipment for me…I guess that'd be another 5 hours to arrive in AK...Not looking too good for 6/17 delivery.
It'd be awesome if they turned the GPS on the phone so you could track this blob of blue dots streaming across the northern Pacific.
 
I'm calling Apple today to ensure that my white 32gb ordered on the 14th will be getting here on the 19th like it says on my order status. It also says "priority" shipping.
 
I think people are missing my post before. Its more than likely going to be rescheduled. It has to clear customs...

"I just called UPS (surprised no one did that yet) the lady told me the package shows NO HOLD what so ever on it and there is no reason it shouldnt be delivered HOWEVER, it wont be here till thursday the 18th (originally it says the 17th, tomorrow) because it must go through customs. She said more than likely thursday before 10:30AM."

Call yourself and check it out 1-800-MY-UPS say track a package and once you give the number, say agent.

i got up this morning and immediately checked email... and there were two emails from apple.... our iphones had tracking numbers!

i've been catching up on this thread and following our tracking! looks like our phones are sharing a plane with several of you! ours just left hong kong!

i have a delivery date of the 18th :mad: (i want mine tomorrow like so many others may have! especially since i ordered on the 8th!)

fedex has 2 customs locations anchorage, AK and Memphis, TN. All shipments from intl have to still clear US Customs. If the plane arrives after 11pm local time it will sit until the next evening before customs process's the release. I get allot of stuff from china and there is always a chance for customs delay's

i'm thinking that our iphones are going to memphis... since it appears that the east coast/mid west folks are the ones with the earlier delivery dates (tomorrow) vice us poor suckers on the west coast with a delivery date of the 18th.

ok.... so THIS really irks me.... everything apple (or someone) was saying was that pre-orders were shipping in order received or "first come first served" so it really really irks me that so many folks who ordered after me got their information sooner than i did (and mine shipped from china, too!)

Yes, different parts of the country and being shipped via different methods and that's fine. But if two people across the road from me have their tracking numbers and I don't then your argument doesn't hold water.

No biggie, I just like playing devils advocate! :D
 
If I wake up tomorrow morning and check the shipping status and it says it's sitting in Harrisburg, PA. I am going to sh*t a brick.
 
Found our UPS Plane

I found a UPS plane heading from Hong Kong to Anchorage. The flight takes 9 hours and 28 minutes. It looks like it should be here by 12:54 cst, but I am not too sure, I can not really figure out what the times zones are. Here is a picture of what I am looking at it. It is FLIGHT 5X 63!:)

Mine finally switched to "prepared for shipment" too... happened within the last five minutes, because I've been hitting refresh on the order page like an impatient douchebag. :) Still says "By June 19th" for delivery though.

This didnt say "as soon as the 19" or "as early as the 19" it specifically said it will BE THERE on the 19th.

I ordered on Apple.com and nowhere did it (nor does the current status) state "delivery on June 19." My confirmation email and current status have consistently stated "delivery by June 19." ;)

7:49pm departure scan for me as well. Well we know there is a bulk shipment headed our way now. I was really hoping FedEx would be the carrier for these, since I work there and would have no problems getting the phone. Now I just gotta deal with the UPS guy. No way am I letting them release it on my front porch while I'm gone though.
