One of the points on that link is: "Offers detailed tracking visibility for every package in the shipment".

When they load the shipment in China, each container has a bar code. They scan each box as it goes into the container so they know what's in there. The containers go into a plane that also has a code. When that plane lands in customs, they can apply an updated "scan" to each package on the plane with one "swipe" Each package in the shipment does get updated scans at each step of the journey.

Exactly, this is how FedEx does bulk shipments as well.

There is also provisions for fast customs processing as well that UPS and FedEx uses. It allows pallets that are identical items to be accounted for in the manifest and in customs paperwork and pass thru with little more than a sniff of a K9.

well

they just updated my shipment yes in Alaska it used to say arrives tomorrow not that part is gone. so I will not be surprised if it sits here in Mi or some where along the line until Friday. until ups puts it in my hand the rest doesn't matter. as others and myself had anything can change.

Looks like the UPS website is right. My iPhone is in Alaska already :). It's totally coming tomorrow, Apple can't hold onto mass shipments like that. They're already shipped, they'll be here soon

Okay, Mine STILL isn't in Alaska.:mad::mad::mad:

I WANT MINE ON TOMORROW.

Come on UPS, Get it together. I feel ashamed to even "work" for you!

Okay, just kidding but seriously, I want my iPhone tomorrow by 2 PM LATEST.

Guys, you need to go back through the posts and read.

Is there an Admin or someone here who can make a sticky post with details about UPS tracking, UPS flights, Apple and ATT orders, etc? Many of the same questions are asked over and over.

It's two days early. Get a grip. You weren't promised anything but the 19th.

You know you're not getting it, right? UPS holds shipments for Apple until launch day. You are not getting your iPhone before the 19th.

can everyone be happy their phones have tracking info instead of getting all wild up about taking delivery of the phone BEFORE the 19th, coz it wont happen :D

iphone covers

ive noticed that a lot of iphone covers on ebay can be bought for abour $1/cover vs $30-$50 in apple or att. i am sure the ebay ones are from china and knock offs or something, but has anyone ever bought one of these? would it be worth it to buy like five different covers on ebay for $1/piece or are they just junk and it is worth the big bills at apple for a single one of higher quality?

Bingo - we have a winner.

Me, minus the "instore" part. >.>

I would be, if I had a tracking #. :(

So you don't have one?

What I've noticed:

Ordered from Apple - getting tracking numbers
Ordered from ATT instore - getting tracking numbers
Ordered from ATT online - getting the shaft.
