iPod touch [Merged] What to expect from third generation of iPod touch?

i personally dont expect anything different than more memory and a new physical design thats all

I guess apple thinks and wants you to buy a mobileme subscription if you want wireless sync for email contacts and calendars!
 
I hope there will be a way to have more than 148 apps at once. Well, yeah, it is nore like OS upgrade and nothing similar was mentioned in 3.0 preview but i am still hoping for it.:apple:

The Nintendo DSi will be released on April 5th also has removable storage media, camera lens on front and back all for only $169 :) I just placed my order for two on Amazon, one for me and one for my kid :)

These would be my wants for the 3rd gen Touch:

- A Camera! At least 3mp
- Longer battery life. 7 to 8 hours of video battery life would be sweet!
- Higher capacity
- A faster chip would be nice seeing that apple is trying to get into the portable gaming industry with the Touch

I predict all of that happening except the camera. :D
 
I second the longer battery life. 32gb is working out for me because I don't have any audio files on it, but increasing the capacity to 64gb would not be a bad thing. I see these as two very possible and doable expectations.
 
At some point Apple will do a major update to iPhone and iPod Touch, and after that apps which are developed for a new version will not work anymore in older models. This major update could include much faster processor and larger screen with more pixels. For example, if the app is developed for a faster processor, it will not work with slower processors.

The question is when that will happen... I would guess that not yet, maybe next year.
 
The only thing i could wish for is more battery life, scratch proof back, higher res screen, more alloted cache (though this is a minor software change) and a FASTER PROCESSER!!!
none of this camera, of gps stuff. think about it, its encroaching on iPhone territory, so it wont happen.

what to expect from itouch 3rd gen

this forum is for everybody to express their anticipations for the 3rd gen itouch to be released during this september. I think the built in microphones and speakers were a great setback for the itouch 1st gen and hence a webcam can be one for 2nd gen. Does anyone know when is the exact month that the new itouch would be released?:)

I dont know if anyone has thought about this before but it would be pretty sweet to be able to use this in landscape for your pages. And flip through in landscape? Ehh? That would be cool. Also I've used my friends jailbroken 3g and he installed the camcorder and it looks pretty nice even though it lags sometime in dark lighting.

Price Drop I'm guessing it should look something like this

Stronger body maybe a little thicker is it is less likely to break

Give me a break, SERIOUSLY! Apple could never make an app that could help you find your shoes, but I did hear about them making the app that could butter your toast. Seriously, has anyone thought about this, what is going to happen when apple makes an app that controls peoples brains?

WHO'S TROLLIN?! :D Yeah I really want an Aluminum back! They separate the wifi antenna anyway so there'd be no signal weakness. I kinda like the charcoal aluminum my shuffle has but regular aluminum would match my Macbook or Glassbook or Alubook or... oh nvmd :rolleyes:

I downloaded a cd from Itunes that had a video on it, that has been transferred to my ipod touch but doesn't play. Does it need to be converted or what should I do? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Please apple make it. GPS with maps built-in so you have maps and location everywhere.

Maybe Apple is going to had mic because of it's new app on the 3.0 OS to register voice memos 
