Odd that those kids' parents were more than willing to let them stay. Also odd that the ones who sued had a previous history of filing false/fraudulent claims.

But as usual, people never care about the good deeds someone does.

They were after his cash, period. Otherwise the guy would have settled out of court.

He did settle out of court in the first instance, $20 million was reported, but even a tenth of that is a lot of money if nothing happened.

He was acquitted on charges relating to other children.

Speaking of children, where are his going to go, given that it appears he may have been bankrupt?

So to everyone saying "He was innocent! And a great musician! blah blah blah blah" I ask you this: When OJ dies, are you going to remember him as a football star or a cold blooded murderer?

I never watched or cared for American Football, and given his recent antics... Cold blooded murderer here.

Although I suspect we all deep down knew he was going to go early it's not good when someone who brings pleasure to millions dies at such a young age. However, on the plus side the complete car crash that was his adult life has finally come to a close.

RIP
Yeah. It's funny, every time I saw his mess of a face I thought "I wonder what he will look like at 75", then reminded myself we'll probably never know. He will remain a mystery. He never told the truth about anything, nobody around him did either, and half of the stories about him were made up or wildly exaggerated. None of that will improve now, it's about to get even worse.

Either way I'll probably remember him most for his unique appearance. Completely oblivious of fashion trends, conventions and universal beauty ideals, he came up with some truly unfathomable stuff. Black loafers, jeweled white socks, pants that were 5 inches too short for no apparent reason, a golden jockstrap on the outside of the pants, one white glove, weird elaborate jackets that tried to be army- and Liberace-inspired at the same time, and on top of that a translucent white face with a woman's eyes and make-up, a tiny Peter Pan nose and a sculpted Mr. Incredible chin. There's something so wonderfully demented and random about it, you couldn't make it up. Eccentric doesn't even begin to cover it. Add a pet chimp and an entourage of 9-year olds and you've got the weirdest dude on the planet.

As for his music, I dunno... he's both over- and underrated. Yes, he "made" MTV. Yes, Thriller is the best selling album ever. Yes, he transcended race and opened the portal between black music and white audiences. On the other hand, he was ludicrously unproductive. He was in the industry for almost 45 years, yet only managed to produce six solo albums (the rest are just compilations and remixes). Prince makes more music in a year than MJ did in his entire life. This whole "king of pop" and "biggest artist evvvarrrr" thing seems to exist mostly because he said it was so. The claims hold SOME merit, but come on... he's been a has-been for 20 years. Everything after "Bad" was derivative garbage that sounded miserably dated and didn't inspire anyone.

"OJ who?" will be response of most people, I'd have thought.

^^^ Was it the correct star though apparently the Michael Jackson (the singer) star is at the moment covered up and people are gathered at Michael Jackson (the DJ ) star.

yes, though we had to wait until two am to get to it as bruno was premiering and it was covered by a red carpet and the street was blocked off:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I know I'm late to the eulogy, but he will be sorely missed. He was quite a talented man. I'm sure there are lots of jokes to be made, but lets keep them at the door and have some respect for the deceased.

According to that article that may not be enough...
I believe WSJ said he was several hundred million in debt, yeah. But that's what you get if you burn money at the rate he did. He worked hard as a kid but he was extremely lazy as an adult. His earn:spend ratio must've been about 1:3. I remember the Bashir documentary where MJ went shopping... he was walking through this store full of extremely tacky golden candelabras, chandeliers and mirrors, just pointing at stuff... "I'll take that one... that one... that one..." exhibiting no joy whatsoever. And all the stuff he bought probably went straight into storage because his ceilings couldn't hold any more chandeliers. I wouldn't be surprised if his last word was "Rosebud..."

Genius and tragedy in equal measure.

Sad though it is to say it, I think we'll discover this to be a suicide, or 'accidental overdose'. Bankrupt, facing a contract to perform 50 massive concerts that he knew he physically couldn't do perform, and frankly, just not quite right in the head. He probably couldn't see a way out of a rather nasty corner he was stuck in.

I thought, for about 5 minutes, of getting tickets to see him at the O2. Then I thought "Nahh - there is no way he's healthy or fit enough to do it. He'll cancel.".

Sadly, I was more right than I thought.

Which Michael Jackson will be missed, though? I don't think anyone will miss the train wreck that was MJ of the mid 90's to 2009, except maybe the tabloids.

The Michael Jackson of 1958-1986-ish may be sorely missed, but he was sorely missed long before the artist formerly known as Michael Jackson, or should I say the entity formerly known as the artist Michael Jackson, stopped breathing. When Elvis died, I'm assuming the people who "missed him" were referring to Elvis circa 1960, not Elvis the Hutt who croaked while taking his final royal dump. People should've been mourning the loss of Elvis in about 1970 and the loss of Michael Jackson in about 1990 if you ask me.

He's been in nastier corners than this one (pajama bottoms in court anyone?) and I very much doubt that he was the suicidal type. If anything, I think he was delusional enough to think that he was going to live forever, and that he died from trying to complete an exercise program designed for 20-year-olds with the body of a 75-year-old.

The artist will be missed. The man will be a lesson to be learned from. He was a talented child and young man, but as an adult he had a few issues. However as an artist he will be missed. You cant mess with Thriller. Everyone knows that song, or at least who sang it.

Well said, that's the music I've been listening to this morning.

The guy was a complete freak show in the end. Kiddie fiddler, out of touch with reality with a little insanity mixed in.

I'll miss the Michael Jackson I listened to as a kid. I won't miss the freak he became.
