A lot of child stars had their childhood ripped away from them, but they didn't have sleepovers with a bunch of 12 year olds. What happened with his childhood is terrible, but there's the right way to deal with it and the wrong way, he did it the wrong way.

I understand where your coming from, and it's important to remember that you don't have to be a childhood star to have your childhood ripped away from you. And having a bad childhood does not justify adult decisions. It may influence them, but not justify.

It's all by the by and probably not the best time to argue these past events, but just reflect on his passing and those family he leaves behind.

Is that all you know him for? Sleepovers? Do you have any idea of all the good things he did? He was a child at heart - the world will always look at an adult acting as a child weird..

I don't care about all the good things he did. Anyone else who did what he did with those kids would be spending the rest of their life in jail. Showing up to court in your pajamas is weird. Having sleepovers with someone else's kids is just wrong.

Did he? We, as the public and it turn the media, pushed him into the lime-light at a very early age and he was prevented from having a childhood. When he got older he wanted the childhood and because he was devoid from reality he didn't know how to handle himself.

Ron Howard was in the limelight too. He turned out alright. So was Donny Osmond and a hundred others.

Granted people deal with it differently but in and of itself that's no reason for erratic, eccentric behaviour. I mean, if you want to blame yourself it's fine with me..

Holy freaking hell.

Poor Jacko, and I don't just mean this event although it kinda takes the biscuit.

L.A. Times, 2:46 p.m. Pacific time: Michael Jackson is in a coma.

L.A. Times, 3:15 p.m. Pacific time: Michael Jackson was pronounced dead.

They said paramedics were called to the home on Sunset Blvd. in Bel-Air where Jackson was staying, 2 minutes from UCLA Medical Center, then later corrected it to say he was 6 minutes from the hospital.

I'm sure there are already fans congregating at the Medical Center.

Why should I not show compassion, are you the compassion police?

I also feel compassion for the children he leaves behind.

My opinion... and no apology.

You missed my point. I was agreeing with your point as you were replying to a previous post.

What i'm saying is that those people who are acting like 'why should I care?' well fair enough, you dont have to care about MJ but at least show compassion for those children he leaves behind.

So who gets the Beatles' recordings now? (Paul, are you listening?)

He never owned the recordings. He bought the publishing rights of almost 200 Lennon and McCartney songs.

Paul sold 'em, Michael bought 'em, and now they belong to his estate.

Paul never owned them. He only had a 15% share of Northern Songs when the company went public in 1965. In 1985 Jackson purchased Associated Television Corporation which had taken a controlling interest of Northern Songs in 1969.

Due to Jackson's ongoing financial problems, Sony now owns about 75% of the company, now named Sony/ATV Music Publishing.

Truly a sad day. I am surfing iTunes to purchase some of my old favorites, hoping some of the money goes to help the family / his charities.

Odd that those kids' parents were more than willing to let them stay. Also odd that the ones who sued had a previous history of filing false/fraudulent claims.

But as usual, people never care about the good deeds someone does.

Funeral: public or private?

If public, it will be the largest since President Ronald Reagan.

But, private somehow sounds more likely.

Very sad news indeed. I didn't always understand his actions as an adult, but will always appreciate the music that he brought to us. RIP Michael :(
