So what? He could have been the greatest living artist in any discipline, he may well have been the best pop artist although that is clearly debatable, he meant little to me and billions of others.

You liked him, fine.

I didn't, but for my sins I get to clear up the threads here, so here I am talking to you Jackson fans.

Well while you're doing your janitor duties why don't you edit your obviously intentionally inflammatory and disrespectful posts.

I've always hated them, and what they've done is only furthering that...:( How can anyone like what those people do to celebrities?

Pretty disgusting.

Sad fact is, people eat this crap up. Look how many shows like their are on and all highly rated.

Winter.. weren't you a bassist for a band in the 80s? Even if you didn't like his songs.. at least we musicians can acknowledge the sheer skills that his works involved. Talk about using 200 synths for one bassline!

Maybe you didn't like his songwriting, or his vocals, or his performances, or his productions - but at least, as a musician, give credit to his chops. (Yes, Quincy Jones was involved with most of his work but MJ was a perfectionist)

Hell yes, it was a phenomena, but (and I say this as a music professional) it's just music... Good music for some, for sure.

----

I know some of you don't get this, but his work is not that important in the scheme of things, it's not a personal attack on your beliefs, I'm not spitting on your mom...!

I'll die and no-one but my family will remember me for long, guess what? I'll be dead, I won't know about it and I certainly won't care.

This is a discussion forum. People will post things you don't like. He was a figure that was loved and despised by millions.

He was loved by some, and absolutely hated by others.. When one side starts talking, it's only going to make the other side want to say their thoughts on the matter.

But if you believe this sort of thing, now comes time for his judgement. :D

Sure, his music was great up until "Thriller", and "Bad" wasn't half bad. After that he's been making pure crap. All the nose surgery changed his voice to the point where it was just a nasal screeching that sounded like ripping paper (whatever was left in terms of actual singing inbetween all the groans, grunts and "shommon's").

its absurd, what "clean up" did you do here? how is your constant attack on MJ any "clean up"?

since you dont like to be here neither, just go away. maybe billions of people dont care about him neither, but they dont rub in our face like you did.

what do mods do here at MR? this obviously far exceeds what your duty calls. which part of mod document says you should engage in an full out assault on a dead person you dont like and claim your mod duty calls for it?

I know some of you don't get this, but his work is not that important in the scheme of things, it's not a personal attack on your beliefs, I'm not spitting on your mom...!
which part of people's memory dont you understand? who cares what you think about him? we share memories where he was a big part, we feel sad because part of our memory is gone. Exactly why do you think we are debating scientific value of an artists?

You want to show your unique prospective? I DONT CARE! What you did is insulting people's memory. Plain and simple. We are not tards and dont need your education.

Uri Geller is on Sky News talking his usual nonsense.

When asked, "when was the last time you spoke to Michael?" He refused to comment claiming it was "too personal"....

Everybody knows they did not get on very well, why is he on TV acting like his best friend?

I'm watching this atm, not really buying a lot of it, especially these under hypnosis revelations..

Geller always was a pathological liar, I wouldn't even bother asking him what the time is.

Exactly what work is important to you? A doctor who cures a disease. Diseases constantly adapt to their environment and many times the cure is no longer useful. New diseases will always come about and many people will always die.

Many people remember their fondest moments in life through music. It amazes me that you say this and you were a musician!

I'll die and no-one but my family will remember me for long, guess what? I'll be dead, I won't know about it and I certainly won't care.

No offense, but you're not Michael Jackson.

Nope, but you need to rail at something to ease your loss, fair enough, fire away.

I'll not take it personally.

Maybe he needs the exposure, now we have seen his spoon bending acts a 1000 times

Definitely, he didn't even look emotional at the interview..

Geller always was a pathological liar, I wouldn't even bother asking him what the time is.

Yeah especially that last 'revelation' about his face lifts being because he didn't want to look like his father..

That's just Sky TV for you. Micheal obviously didn't have a wide circle of close celebrity friends. Uri probably got as close if not closer to MJ than many ever did, so it's just another rather sad indicment on how MJ's adult life has played out.

I agree entirely, and some of my musical heroes would undoubtedly cause howls of derision here. It's not about who is better than whom, or about who sold the most records, it;s about what the music meant to you personally.

I'm still a musician, I recognise his influence, I just don't like his music.

I am eternally grateful that my small talent never raised me to his heights of fame, it killed him early.

Watch out for Uri's new book titled "Michael told me, just before he died, that he changed his face so as not to look like his father" and other made-up stuff which nobody will be able to prove is BS.

Bestseller?

Hated his music - the whole scene - and he was clearly weird, but I'll fight to defend anyone's right to mourn his loss. For the record, all that kiddy-touching stuff never held water with me, and in a thread about his death I don't think it belongs. That thread could have been made before he died. Apologies for sounding self-righteous.
