Yeah I have had none of those problems. Facial ID is perfect almost all the time and I pinch to zoom and don't have any lag unless it's a huge pdf file which in that case it will lag on anyyhing
It seems to me that a lot more people agree it's not a good computer, all of my colleagues agree it's a waste of money, we got them several months ago, a pain in the behind.

macOS combined with a slow interface is STILL a slow interface though. There’s nothing about macOS that would have made that problem go away. Anyway, if the file transfer from a device is slow, it’s not a limitation of the filesystem, it’s a limitation of the interface (macOS and iPadOS’s file systems are similar anyway).
Speed wasn’t issue, the issue was no progress bar. I had no idea how long it was gonna take.

I have a Surface Pro 6. Two years on and still going strong. Recently but a Mac Mini M1. Its nice but I just wanted to see what all the fuss is about. You really cant compare games on Mac... at ALL. I do like the ecosystem in the Mac, but for our needs the Surface has been great and no issues that have been stated previously. I dont get the purpose of the iPad if you have an iPhone.
Yeah I have a 12 Pro Max.

I love the phone, I have an Xbox for games.

I just sold my i5 surface pro 7 (yes they are fanless) and bought a macbook air to complement the ipad 8 i have.

The problem with the surface is that while it CAN do everything, it's master of none. A traditional laptop is a better laptop than a surface, and a traditional tablet is better than a surface used as a tablet. for business applications i can see the surface fitting that niche well becuase it makes for a cost effective do everything computing device, but it compromises on the user experience in ways that i personally found to be bad enough to make me not want to use it much at all.

I’m sure this will be an unpopular opinion here, but yes I would choose the surface pro IF I were looking for a single device solution. iPad is a better tablet by far, but even now, it’s a poor substitute for a computer with a desktop OS.

Agree. Having said this I find the iPad Pro the best companion to a desktop. Moved from a single laptop to a combination for Desktop and the iPad Pro, never looked back.

In comparison to this system laptops suck in many ways :)

ha if surface are really better choice ....Microsoft don't need this kind of comparison ad ..... am really tired of this kind of ad like Samsung. this ad itself it's free promotion for apple.

They have been pushing these stupid hybrid devices for years, thinking that because it's what they want to sell, it's what people want. News flash: It's not. Hence the market continuing to be dominated by non-hybrid devices.

Yes, just by marketshare alone, it’s guaranteed that Microsoft is telling more people about an Apple product they never knew about than they are the Surface or Microsoft Windows. And, if those folks don’t have a problem with dongles, well now that’s a sale LOL

To get a useful Surface though, it's WAY more than these silly ads let on. My Surface Pro 4 was nearly $2K. The $899 or whatever model it is they're talking about is so underpowered it's barely useful as a web browser, IMHO.
But this kid likes his games that apparently the base model can run well!

To the people mentioning that the comments are off. YouTube recently changed that if something can be geared towards kids, comments are disabled. I think having kids in the video qualifies too.

Sounds like an iPadOS update to align its abilities to Finder. What is Microsoft going to do ditch Intel and go AMD on the Surface or better yet ARM. One sound like an OS update the other sounds like a pray to be answered.
Correct. Each iPadOS update has gotten things closer and closer to (at least for me) making my iPad Pro / magic keyboard my only computer.

Ok, yeah, that’d be a pain not being able to tell when the file transfer had been completed. I see that as an interface thing, though. The filesystem is there working just like it does under macOS, it’s just that on iPadOS they don’t seem to have progress bars.

That’s just a tweak to iPadOS, though. Doesn’t require macOS on an iPad just to get a progress bar :)

I agree, I'm not wanting Mac OS on an iPad. iPad OS still has a way's to go. What I was saying is I wish there was a way we could have both OS on one device. When nontrackpad keyboard or no keyboard at all, let us just Run ipadOS like normal, but if you have a trackpad-equipped keyboard, it be sweet to have a full OS on the ipad. I RDP into my desktop quite often on my ipad with trackpad and keyboard and the expeirence is nearly flawless.

So I have a SP7. It WAS a great device. However the SSD failed in 15 months! Just 3 months out of warranty. Called M$ and they basically told me to pound sand. Tier 1 said someone from tier 2 would call me. Never have I received a call. A bunch of crooks. The first guy I talked to said it’s normal for it to fail in 15 months! Going to office space this surface and put it on YouTube.

I use both the surface pro and iPad Pro. iPad is amazing and the surface is excellent for when I just need a PC. I do however run Manjaro Linux on it because it’s so much faster and more useful than Win10. Both have beautiful hardware design.

Unpopular opinion???

We got them a few months ago, all of my colleagues complain about how bad these are, we asked for iPad pro's, got a barely working, battery consuming monstrosity instead.
I own a SP i5 and an iPad Pro. As a single device for work the SP is way superior, the battery lasts an entire day when I am at conferences and doesn't drain when I close the keyboard cover. It wakes almost instantly and logs me in in seconds. Trying to use the iPad Pro for work requires far too many work arounds that just reduce productivity. And it stutters and heats up when my kids play Minecraft, chewing through battery. It is the most over priced product I have ever got, barely offering any advantage over iPads a third of the price.

That Surface is running an Intel i3 processor, has a fan, and its thicker, bulkier & heavier, almost a no go as a tablet (and let's not talk about tablet optimized apps in Windows), and at the same time is very slow as a laptop. The 2 in 1 Intel devices have always being a compromise, as they're usually inferior as both a tablet & a traditional laptop.

The iPad Pro is no laptop, but you get the best tablet experience available, best performance, battery life, app support, etc.
The i3 and i5 SP are fanless.

The evidence says otherwise.

I have a SP6 and its great for what it is. A laptop that can be used as a tablet. I mostly use it for note-taking and Zoom calls. For my usage it is better at office productivity than the iPad Pro I have. However, as a media consumption device, the iPad is better.

I have both an SP7 (16GB i7) and iPP (2018 12.9 Pro) and really like both of them. Different devices for different uses. If I were forced to keep just one, it would be the SP7.
