Microsoft to Unveil New Product Tonight?

Probably just updates Zunes including a flash based one.
Still wouldn't touch a Zune with a 10ft pole (I wouldn't touch an iPod with one either

I bet we'll see the rumored Microsoft/Verizon branded competitor to the iPhone debuted. It won't necessarily be ready for launch, since we've seen nothing filed to the FCC (we had to wait for the iPhone's approval as well)....Basically, M$ attempting to beat Apple to the punch.
But, it will still suck, I'm sure.

Why is it...
...that a Microsoft announcement just doesn't really inspire me to excitement. Sure, I'm interested in seeing what it could be, if only to ridicule it when we all find out that it's Microsoft coming late to the game with a rival product to that which Apple already have made.
And if it's something unique, well, I hope it works better than their software!

It's Microsoft and what I really think they meant to say was somethig to the extent. "We will be releasing a product like everything else on the market, we call it knew and exciting because we didn't think of it first".
But seriously it's probably Zune or xBox related because at the moment they need to lift their dissmal Vista sales. After all Microsoft does not innovated.

MS always make Jobs-esk claims like "It will change everything" and what do we get.....

If its hardware I'm game. MS hardware is usually pretty good. Mice? Keyboards? Routers? Joy Sticks? I've never had a problem.
Software is another matter.
Basically MS is full of hot air and little substance vs. Jobs being full of hot air and moderate substance.

It's probably a new M$ Keyboard or some new style of Mouse with some stupid feature nobody will ever use.

I have a confession: Before the Zune came out I thought it was actually gonna be a good product because I was told MS put their xBox team on it and gave them "creative freedom"
Multiple Stoopids have consistently produced crap for so long i am never going to believe their latest "wow" announcement. The odds are in my favor that whatever they come up with it will be somehow fundamentally...brown.
On the otherhand, I am told that if give a bunch of Monkey Script writers an i n f i n i t e amount of time - they will eventually write a work of shakespearian quality!

Microsoft used to make good hardware. Their old PS2 mouse would last for years. I still have several that still work fine (if you keep them clean.)
But, Microsoft's new $30-40 street price high-rez USB optical mouses last about 6 months before one or more buttons or the wheel fails. But I will admit I do put a lot of miles on a mouse in a short period of time.
I bet it's zPhone, and it will have Microsoft Multi-touch, where you use two styluses instead of fingers!

Zune 2.0/ Zune Phone, in brown with a new mobile OS based on "Vista". When it crashes, it crashes to hard that it falls from your hand and hits the deck. Like the blue screen of wipeout.

Sure to be just as accurate at the last "Apple internal memo" detailing the delay of the iPhone and Leopard, both of which turned out to be false.
I guess the middle of the night is as good as any time for Microsoft to introduce a new product from the division that brought you the Xbox ($6 billion in the hole) and Zune (Who knows how much they wasted on that abortion).
