Here's another useless stat for you "FAIR WEATHER YANKEE FANS" Chase Utley just tied Michael "Mr October" Jackson:p home run record with five in a series:cool:

WE AIN'T DONE YET...:D:D:D

"I can't wait for it to end," Hamels was quoted as saying after the game. "It's been mentally draining. At year's end, you just can't wait for a fresh start."
You will soon get your wish Mr Hamels. You won't even have to worry about game 7. You can be home in 6.

But in the end I think the Yankee fans will be Chanting whos your Daddy :)

I think that's a strong possibility. It won't happen until late and I think it can be a close game, perhaps 7-5 or something like that with men left on base for the loser. There's nothing for Philly to lose so they will be going for it and maybe getting a couple of home runs and lots of base hits, but getting struck out a lot, too. I don't see them getting walked that much.

What I would like to see, which I think is very unlikely, would be the Phillies winning 5-1 or something like that. They would live another day and be considered a real contender in game 7.

As it stands, I don't think there will be a game 7 as Yankee bats are hot and started to pick up the pace, but we will see tomorrow.

Being neither a Yankee fan nor a Phillies fan in the regular season, the best I could hope for is a 7th game, and a very close one at that. I want something to fire me up before I put my attention to football season. And what about those Philly fans last night? Too bad the series ends in New York. I can tell the Phillies fans are thrilled just to be in the WS.

I can almost see the Yankees winning and the fans being "kind of happy" getting their 27th ring in 40attempts, but not as happy as the Phillies would be winning their 3rd ever WS in 125 years. For a place like NYC with a lot more going on, a WS win becomes yesterday's news the day after.

Tomorrows game will be a battle of the pens, Neither Pedro or Pettitte will go past 5. The Yankees best hope is a lead in the 7th and give the ball to Rivera for a 9 out save.

As for NY fans, the Yankees are New York's team, the Giants and Jets suck. The Yankees will be the talk of the town all winter.

My wife is born and raised NYC and likes the Yankees, but lives in a town where there are far too many happenings for a WS win to hold a conversation for too long. Besides baseball, there are other sports NY does well at, there's the fashion industry, Wall Street, celebs, heads of state, the Mayor, politics in general whether it's state or city, issues with transportation, budget, catching scammers like Bernie, terrorists, and other issues in a city of 8 million and a region of 31 million. One would have to not notice what's going on in a city like NYC to talk about one team in one WS all winter long.

Even in the comparatively small SF Bay Area, it was great when Golden State won one, or the 49ers won five, or the A's won 4, or the Raiders won, but there's just too much going on in both sports and the region. And the Bay Area region is just over 3 million people. Heck right now, the story is Gavin Newsome, but in a few days, he will be out of the news. No issue held the press and people's conversations for months here, not even the great '89 quake, which pretty much overshadowed the A's-Giants WS.

You think their fans' expectations are that low? They are the defending champions after all!

Most people I talked to were sure NY was going to wrap it up. I didn't want NY to win and thought that they may get the win in their late rally last night. Thankfully, the Phillies held.

Nobody I talked to thought it would go to six believing either a NY sweep or NY in five.

I don't think there's a realistic chance for the Phillies to take two in a row in New York, but it would be nice. Heck, Philly couldn't take two in their own stadium.

I think all the pressure is on NY since it's theirs to lose. This could be what can make the Yankees choke and lose this World Series. With CC, possibly the best pitcher in baseball today, and A-Rod, arguably the best hitter in a generation, NY has the pressure on them.

I find it Funny that everyone is saying the Phillies have the edge now but this is just the exact same situtaion the Yanks were in the last round and once again its almost idetical Yanks have had the same situation and now pettite is pitching tommorw and I predict Yanks will come up on top tomorrow

I'm still snake-bitten from 2004 so until the Yankees win it all, I have '04 on my mind.

But the Yankees are in the better position: at home, up 3-2, with the DH spot open and Posada in the lineup.

And two big weapons: Mariano for six outs to hold a potential lead tomorrow and CC, if necessary, for game 7.

Hamels will be a Dodger before you even know it;) Say goodbye Cole:D

You're so hilarious! Is that the way to talk about your Game 7 starter? What do you think, LOL, Lee is going to pitch on 2 days rest if there is a Game 7? The funny thing is you're so happy when many thought, including myself, that the Phillies were going to win. You barely even got that win. You have no one to give the ball to anymore except a worn down, 40 year old Pedro who hasn't pitched on 4 days rest in months. Your manager has no faith in his closer. We have Petitte, Sabathia, and a very well-rested Rivera. Say goodnight robo!

You're right in a sense but here's the problem: The Phillies have no pitching left. They only way they hope they can win is through a slug-fest and the Phillies have to be winning both games before the 8th or they will have to face Rivera. The difference was in that Red Sox series is that the Sox had two HOF pitchers at their peak. The Phillies are throwing out garbage.

Mariano's barely pitched and if they're ahead tomorrow I can see him pitching close to three.

I think all the pressure is on NY since it's theirs to lose.

That makes no sense. The Phillies have a WS to lose. It's funny I heard Tori Hunter make the same comment with the Angels in Game 6. If the Phillies follow that logic, then they already lost in their heads and admit the Yankees are a better team. They'd have to hope for luck, when during this postseason, the Yanks have been capitalizing on other teams' mistakes. This is the reigning WS champions and they are supposed to feel no pressure defending their title?

You are reaching.

Not sure that Pedro counts as "garbage" quite yet. He looked pretty good earlier in this series...

I hope you realize that your statement makes no grammatical sense...were you attempting to utilize a gerund?

To me we revenged the loss to the Red Sox in 04 by getting to the World Series this year. I still hold a grudge after losing in 2001 to the D-Bags. Until we win it all 2001 will still leave a bad taste.

04 is nothing, I am still trying to revenge 01.

As much as it was painful to lose in '01, it was a great series and was a perfect distraction for everything else that was going on at the time. I was at game 4 and by the end of the night, I had forgotten everything else outside of the Stadium.

'04 was just a complete meltdown. Granted, that Yankee team wasn't the greatest collection of talent and the bullpen was overused and burnt by that round but up 3-0 and losing the next 4?

Still have a bad taste from that...only a WS can wash that away. :D
