A few things, Yankees have won 17 of the last 18 games. Now, how the hell can the Mets not know the lineup?

Apparently there were multiple versions posted/printed. Someone swapped 2 names and Callaway (who is ultimately responsible for the lineup) did not verify the card that was traded with the umps/opposing team.

So what was supposed to be the intended lineup. The one in the Mets dugout or the one the umps had?

To only be swept by the Rays......

At least be swept by a good team!
Haha, I’m not losing much sleep over it. Hell, the Red Sox got no-hit by the A’s and the Astros got shutout by Danny Duffy and the Royals the other night.

All that matters is the Yankees are 16-7 against the Astros, Indians, Red Sox, Mariners, and Nationals... all potential postseason teams

is it spring training yet?.......thank God i can turn to soccer when my baseball team isnt doing good.

Very quiet so far in this thread. Maybe more people will start posting on their team after the all star break ?

I think it'll heat up as the deadline approaches and moves are made.

As for my team - the Mets. I'm hoping they don't trade deGrom, and indications are that the asking price is going to be pretty high and he may not get traded.

Between the BoSox being on fire followed closely by the Yanks, the AL East looks very tough this year.

I actually don't follow baseball until after the All-Star break. I will go to games etc, but I am not invested until after and as we start approaching the playoffs. The season is just way to long lol.

The Mets need to seriously start to rebuild and trade off big pieces. I don’t think they can keep deGrom long term so trading him now is their best option.

So who bothered watching the All Star game ?

I watched an inning then turned it off.

Too much commentating and not enough game :).

At least the AL won so the Red Sox will have an advantage if they make it to the World Series.

The home field rule was finally scrapped 2 years ago. It’s back to best record as it should be.

I must say this was one of the best All-star games in a time.

I never realized that the World Series home field rule was scrapped. I agree that it was a good move to scrap it.

Judging by the final score (extra innings), I would also agree it looked like a good game. My problem was that in the inning I watched, the announcers did more inane talking then focusing on the game :(.

I guess that I'm spoiled watching the Red Sox announcers on NESN :).

I was never best record until 2 years ago, in my lifetime. Prior to the All-Star winner getting HFA for the WS, it alternated between the NL and AL team.

It should have always been best record. That’s what I was trying to say.

Oh. Well, "back to" threw me off.
I agree with you that the alternating HFA was not as good as going by the team with the best record. It was arbitrary and not fair to the better team when they happened to not have HFA.

Have most people given up on baseball or are they waiting on the playoffs ?

Other years, the baseball season thread has been more popular :(.

It is the older generations that follow baseball. Some fans are no longer with us, and younger fans are not replacing them.
