Indeed not, but what does it say about you, when you bring down something like that for nearly two days and provide a conistently bad experience to paying users...

If you are going to bring something down, leave it down until you are 100% certain it will stay up, don't keep flicking the switch to have it online if it keeps failing...

It would look a lot better if they took it down and did not bring it up until they put some more beef behind it.

I agree whole heartedly. I would have prefered them to say it was going to be down for 2 days, bring it up as soon as possible and see how many find/hit it for the day or so that is left. Hindsight is 20/20. I'm guessing there will be a big 'lessons learned' meeting in about a week.

MobileMe is working on my Macs, but the website won't let me in. Apparently my username and password is invalid.

neither do I, nor do a lot of people. I think we just have to wait until Apple gets it all sorted out. they seem to be struggling mightily to push all the new software/updates out at once...

Yeah it's quite a sad state of affairs... Apple has been doing this for over 20 years, by now they should have got things right... We have a simple policy in software development: If things don't work roll them back.

The mobile me servers were online before they released the web version, dotmac was working fine before then.

In fact, I've been reading IE 7.0 is not even supported! That is PANTS. 90% of web users have IE, if you a mobile me customer, chances are you will be using it from an internet cafe, which would generally mean IE..

To be honest, I don't really see much difference in ME to dot Mac, the only nice thing is at least when you get a new message you don't have to click another folder, then click back on the inbox to see it...

There are no filters, no smart mail boxes, I guess the gallery is much better, idisk is OK... Although you can't use files in there from mail... If I wasn't so embedded I would stop using it. But the problem is I use my mac account for all my mail. Work block outgoing ports, so I have had to use gmail for the last couple months because dot mac web client was so bad, now me is unusable LOL.

You will have to wait till MobileMe is fully functional to get it via software update. If you cant wait, post ur mail address and i'll send it to you..

I was able to get in this morning but it was painfully slow. I did get a page that said registrations would be available soon. Odd because I am registered.

However, it does seem to have picked up the pace of loading the pages now, about an hour later.

Well they're a little newer than that to web services, and clearly have never treated it seriously. The .Mac/MobileMe part of the company is clearly not at the same level as the computer and OS parts.

me too. :(

contacts and calendars seem to be syncing between my iPhone and Mac pretty well, but i still can't get into the web app through my browser.

mobilme, when?

As of 7/11/08 at 10:30 I am still unable to download the mobilme software. I still can not sign on to me.com in safari.
I would have appreciated an Apple alert to this issue and a caution concerning possible delays and potential problems.:(

It is now up and running for me, and faster than this morning when it was up for a bit. Apple Support page also lists all systems go.

Fingers crossed!!!!

I know you're frustrated that things aren't working but...maybe take a look at how many posts are in this thread - and hey, maybe even read a few - then you'd know that this is affecting EVERYONE and that it has been effecting everyone since about yesterday morning or when Mobileme first attempted to go online. Forums are for debate and getting questions answered, but if you'd actually try and read some of the posts that went before you wouldn't SHOUT AT EVERYONE one and a half thousands posts into a thread that something isn't working. WE KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!
